How long does it take to get a response?

EDIT: Registration number should be in upper case, doesn't send a response for lower case. It also doesn't have my vehicle's details, though registered in 2008

Its immediate with in couple of min.

I tried the service for my bike now with the new number. Got the reply sms. However, the sms carried only the FC expiry status. The sms reads exactly like
"RC/FC Expiry: 16-Oct-28. MV Tax upto (Life time)". Is this the expected response? Please shed some light friends.
BTW, My vehicle is 2013 registered RE. If that matters.

I tired it with the registration number of the vehicle which I am planning to buy, but it shows MV Tax upto:NA. Anything to worry about here?

I sent SMS to 07738299899 with my vehicle registration number around an hour back. Did not get any response so far.

Earlier the service used to specify the owner name/name of registered owner.

Now, all I am getting is some irrelevant information :

RC/FC Expiry- Date
Finance: Bank Name
MV Tax upto: Duration

I recently had the bank loan closed and on application the RTO has issued fresh Smart Card without hypothecation but SMS from Vaahan still shows that the vehicle is hypothecated.

What could be the issue?

Latest facility for knowing Registration details from RTO website:
The Karnataka Transport Department enables yet another feature to its citizens. You can now know the details of the registration or financier on a vehicle. Just visit the website at http://rto.kar.nic.in/ and click on Vehicle search and enter the vehicle number. You can see all the details of the vehicle as available in the Transport Database as on date. This facility is extremely useful for people who want to buy a second hand vehicle or want to know the details.

Isn't this facility risky, from the stolen vehicles perspective? You get to know the owner name, chassis number and engine number associated with a registration number. One can easily fake the documents with these details and sell the stolen car as authentic.

More than that, your vehicle number is now a personally identifiable information.

But, thank god, they are at least withholding the address.

I tried with my present and previous car details

1) Present car - Everything was correct
2) Previous car - I had sold this car about 4 months back. I am still the owner as per the details displayed. It may be possible that the transfer is still not complete. Incidentally, this was a company leased car and I had transferred the ownership from company to me. It shows the owner serial number as 2, which is correct
3) Older car - This is where I was disappointed. This car was transferred in 2004. The ownership is still not changed as per the details shown. However, I had seen the photocopy of the ownership change extract. So, obviously it is not correct.

As of now, it appears that you cannot use it as a definite tool for determining whether the ownership has been transferred

Is this SMS thing still working as I typed vahan HR26AX**** but I am not receiving any message.
Is there any link to track Haryana registered vehicles as google search didn't give any results.
