As per a reputed Indian automotive blog Renault India has confirmed that it will conduct the ‘worldwide premiere of a Renault concept car’ at the 2014 Auto Expo. The company has not teased or released any images, and has not bothered explaining either. While its not sure whether this is for the lower or premium segments but Renault’s future plans includes an A Entry car in India that will sit below the Renault Pulse to compete with the Maruti Alto 800 and Hyundai Eon.

According to the reports, the Renault A-Entry would be a differently styled Datsun I2 (the concept version of which also premieres at the Expo), sporting Renault-designed body panels, lights and interior, sharing core components with the Datsun. The concept car that Renault has announced could possibly be this A-Entry model. Besides the concept car, Renault would have two product facelifts (Duster and Fluence – though they don’t say that), one product upgrade i.e Renault Koleos and one new limited edition.

Hi all, As per IAB Renault India has released a teaser for the facelift of the Renault Koleos SUV using social media. The Koleos facelift is expected to feature at the upcoming Auto Expo 2014.

The company says along with the teaser, “An imposing front grille makes its presence felt on any sort of road. The all-new Koleos is on its way.”

Its expected that the Renault Koleos’ upgrade package will extend beyond the grille. It was reported earlier that the Koleos will get a front-wheel drive system and an improved version of the 2.0-liter diesel engine that currently does duty on the Koleos. It will produce 171 hp (23 hp more than the current Koleos) and a peak torque of 360 Nm as compared to the 314 Nm the current Koleos manages.


The Renault Koleos was first launched in India in 2010 as Renault India’s second model to break away from the image the company had previously projected by selling the boxy Logan. It was positioned as a premium SUV, stuffed with features, including a Bose audio system, with the ambition to build the Lozenge’s image. The upgraded Renault Koleos would come with fewer bells and whistles and be priced to compete with the likes of the base BMW X1 and the Audi Q3S and Renault is expected to price position the 2WD Koleos between the Toyota Fortuner and the XI/Q3S.

Vardenchi, the Mumbai-based motorcycle customisation house, has confirmed that two iconic Moto Morinis have left Bologna for an official Indian unveil at the Auto Expo 2014. Also to be showcased at the expo is a custom designed motorcycle by Vardenchi based on the Moto Morini’s 1200cc V-Twin.

The Moto Morini Scrambler and the Moto Morini Granpasso are expected to launch in India later this year.

Last year, the custom house tied-up with the iconic Italian motorcycle manufacturer to import and distribute its motorcycles in India.

Mahindra & Mahindra will be showcasing a diesel-hybrid version and a turbo-charged version of it's popular SUV, the XUV 500 car.

A full hybrid version of one of the company’s most popular sports utility vehicles (SUV), XUV500, will also be showcased. This hybrid model is expected to have a small diesel engine and an electric motor. M&M has been building the micro-hybrid versions of various models such as Scorpio and Xylo.

In addition, to cater to off-road enthusiasts, a turbo-charged XUV500 will be on display. This variant, the most powerful model of the premium SUV, had won M&M the Asean rally last year and is in a customised form.

Is this the CS version or say C class car of Fluence from Renault? For me, Car looks mostly like Fluence only. If it is the case, then i am loving it It will be great if Renault launch this car. It will be serious competitor in the C segment. Looks better than many existing C segment cars.

From the specs, the Clio hatch itself is more than 4m in length. So I don't think the sedan can be a CS version. It must be a proper C-segment car.

By CS i mean small sedan than the Fluence. It cant be below 4m for sure. If this is the look of their C class sedan, then it will be really great and they should launch it in India ASAP. I see it has lots of potential. It wont make sales like 5 K per month like Verna or City, but can definitely do respectable numbers like 1-2 K. Currently what then have in C class is only Scala, which is nothing but Nissan Sunny. So this can bring better sales and can build image for the company in the long run IMHO

Looks like Tata Motors is leaving no stone unturned in their bid to gain the lost market share back.

According to Rohin Nagrani of BSMotoring magazine, TaMo will unveil two UV concepts at the Auto Expo. One of them is a compact SUV called Jump.

AutocarIndia confirms the same and has carried an article on their website about the Jump.

Based on the X1 platform which also underpins the Vista and now the new ‘Falcon’ family, the Jump is a sub-4 metre Ecosport rival which the company hopes to bring to the market by 2015.

It also suggests that there is a new Diesel engine under development, which is likely to power the Jump, along with a 100BHP version of the recently unveiled 1.2 Revetron petrol engine.

Powetrain options are likely to be a 100bhp, 1.2 turbo-petrol from Tata’s recently launched Revotron engine family and an all-new diesel which the company is developing in-house.
