The ambassador is a monocoque with leaf springs if I remember correctly!!!

And a more recent example would possibly be the Omni that is also a moncoque with leafsprings. So its not impossible.

Re: General Motors to launch Enjoy by year end

For me, Enjoy is just another Tavera, and has no aspirational value. Will affect the sales of Tavera, and settle around 1000 units per month.

They had to launch the Spin MPV, which has a lot of character and style!

Spin MPV is little premium offering in the segment of Ertiga with similar competitive specs for urban MPV requirements. Whereas, Enjoy would be in the competition of primarily Tavera (Chevy's own), Xylo and maybe Innova. On the whole, even Tavera looks much better offering than Enjoy looking just externally.

Spotted testing in New Delhi

Spotted this Gujarat registered test vehicle today in south Delhi. I am not sure if this is already spotted here.

That grill reminds me of Chevrolet.
Is that Chevrolet's MPV?

Re: Spotted testing in New Delhi

Yes, its Chevrolet Enjoy MPV. Looks like launch is relatively near. Recently, I came across one which sounded like Diesel. certainly this people carrier is going to have diesel, but I am not sure whether its 90 or 78 bhp format. The car is certainly not in range of Tavera for width or sheer space or durability.

@mods: Can we merge threads ?

Re: Chevrolet Sail (Hatchback) & Chevrolet MPV (Enjoy) : Auto Expo 2012

I saw a production ready Chevy Enjoy MPV being driven around Mahabaleshwar near Pune by a family of 7 adults!!
Managed some shots of the LTZ varaint.
Salient observations:
1) had reverse parking sensors, don't know where the output is...as in in irvm or center console.
2) has 3 air vents on center
3) had captain seats in center and thus had plenty of legroom in the rear

Could not see how it rode as it passed me once and was still when I took the shots. Maybe the executive brought the vehicle for testing it in loaded condition the way a normal family will take these MPV s on trips!
Also rear boot space was not visible..had good head room and still an overhead carrier would not be cumbersome!

Re: Chevrolet Sail (Hatchback) & Chevrolet MPV (Enjoy) : Auto Expo 2012

Any indications about the launch?
From their website I see that the top end Tavera Neo with 4 Captain seats, alloys, fog-lamps and premium fabric seats, costs 11.05 lakhs. It does not have ABS, or airbags.
SAIL sedan top end with ABS and Airbags is 7.65 lakhs.
Where would they be pricing the Enjoy?

Re: Chevrolet Sail (Hatchback) & Chevrolet MPV (Enjoy) : Auto Expo 2012

Saw this today on NH-8 in Gurgaon. MH number plates and a "TEST" badge on the top. Wanted to take more pics but it took a left towards IFFCO chowk and I had to go straight ( Was getting late for office ) . I guess this is the Chevy Enjoy. Did not look gorgeous , but guess that is the story with MPV. The interiors looked better than the Xylo for sure but certainly should be less spacious than it.

I do not see an Innova beater here.

Chevrolet MPV spotted testing in Bangalore

I managed to snap these pics near Marathahalli a couple of weeks ago. Completely got side-tracked at work and missed uploading em

I couldn't get a snap of the front as it ended up getting blocked by a few pedestrians and my cab ended up speeding away.

However, I could distinctly make out Chevy's bow-tie beneath copious amounts of 3M's scotchtape on the front as the countours remained

Guess the launch must be around the corner if a test mule has made its way from Gujarat to Karnataka?

Cheers !

Captain seats look neat and Is it just me or the 3rd row seats appear really wide for 3 people ?

Yep, I agree to that. The captain seats do look neat.

One more thing I like is how the AC controls are mounted.

Rear seats do appear to be wide here, but sometimes - the camera does a better job than the actual seat
