Unfortunately nothing official still it seems but here's another link from team ICB - just FYI. http://www.indiancarsbikes.in/cars/2...t-india-56587/

Its not quoting Maruti but I find it extremely logical that they'll wait till budget and no reason why they shouldn't launch soon after I suppose.

Update

Got this from a very reliable source:

Launch of Ertiga by 15th April & Pricing would be a few thousands lower than the SX4.

SX4 VXi is priced at 7L ex-showroom Delhi. If the above info is true, then:
Ertiga VXi may be priced around 6.9L,
LXi - 6.4L,
ZXi - 7.6L,
LDi - 7.4L,
VDi - 7.9L,
and ZDi - 8.6L ex-showroom Delhi, IMO.

Re: Maruti Ertiga 7-Seater : Auto Expo 2012

At the prices you mentioned above the ertiga is very close to the base version of the xylo and that may go against it as the lxi petrol will be a little lower than the base xylo with the smaller 90+bhp diesel engine.Maruti should rethink on pricing and try to make lesser margins on this car if needs to be a success .On the other hand if they have a finite amount of diesel engines available per month with the 1.2 fiat engine then they may not price the diesel very low as they will extract high margins from the diesel as the cannot produce enough for the demand anyway , so sell less but at higher margin . In any case the 1.2 fiat will be grossly underpowered for the car as to carry 8 people you need a 100 bhp engine.

Got a call from Maruti SE and had this discussion:

- No communication yet from MSIL on the date of launch.
- According to him, they are called for training on a new product around 20 days before the launch. The email for training is sent (usually) 10 days before the date of training.
- As yet there is no communication on the product training as well. Hence, He opined, it's safe to assume that product launch will take place in April 2nd week.
- Bookings could start early - ie: as soon as product training begins.

Re: Maruti Ertiga 7-Seater : Auto Expo 2012

Saw a review of Ertiga in AutoCar Mar'2012 issue. Some points that I noticed:
1. Seat height is perfect. Ingress and egress just like a car, no need to 'climb up into the vehicle'.
2. Good thigh support for middle row. However, poor thigh support for rear seats. Middle row seats split 60:40.
3. Middle row seats slide an awesome 240 mm. This enables you to balance the legroom between the middle row and the last row. If you can live with the poor thigh support, the third row is very much manageable for an adult.
4. Roof blowers for middle row helps in cooling the cabin faster.
5. Adjustable head-rests for all seats.
6. Flat loading area available with last row seats flipped down.
7. Boot Space sufficient for one or two small bags even when last row seats are up (better than Xylo)
8. Tyres are the same size as that of Swift - looks a bit small compared to the overall body.
9. Wheel base longer than the XUV! This is achieved by pushing the wheels to all 4 corners.
10. Fuel tank is moved a bit forward, and Spare wheel is placed under the body to save space. This also allows an additional 'under the floor' storage space in the boot.
11. Rear passenger door is long to provide easy ingress to the last row seats.
12. Lots of part sharing with the swift, so expect economies of scale and a price range of 7 to 9 lakhs.
13. Claustrophobic feeling NOT present in the last row seats.
14. Light colored plastics give an airy feeling, but it also add a 'cheap material' look at some places.
15. Front looks contemporary, but rear design is plain.
16. Totally around 7 bottle holders in the vehicle.

nice observations and report! Since the budget is over the release decision will come soon I guess. Any idea on the weight to power ratio? Did you see a provision for roof rails (its a economy 7 seater, I would expect people to treat it as a primary family mover!).

Re: Maruti Ertiga 7-Seater : Auto Expo 2012

Thanks, jinojohnt. Indeed looks like a promising vehicle, especially points 1, 3, 4, 6, 10, 11. Regarding point 13, if it indeed is not claustrophobic, it would be great - felt odd sitting on the last seat of a Tavera. Can't wait to see/TD this one.

BTW, the last row is similar in width to 2nd row, right ? So it should be an 8-seater (2 + 3 + 3), right ? Why is it referred to as a 7-seater then ?

Last row is meant for 2 (the rear wheels are here, hence the reduced space). 2+3+2 makes it 7 seater.

Refer to interior pics posted on the first page of this thread.

Maruti Ertiga reached Goan shores

Hi All,

Saw 10+ Maruti Ertiga at Sai Service Porvorim(Goa) yard. The car is comparable with Innova except with the length of the vehicle. The security guy dint allow me to click snaps of the car

Today, Maruti has organized a Journalist meet in a 5star resort and has planned to launch the car in Goa on 11th April 2012.
