Yup. Current Octavia and Superb engine + tranny configs are not RDE-compliant and hence cannot be registered after 1 April 2023. May resurface in PHEV or EV form in 2023/24.

I have booked a grey VW Virtus Highline MT for my parents. On road price is 15.75. Getting a discount of 75k and closing the deal at 15L with service package free as a December deal from VW (not the dealer). Insurance is 67k. Dealer is not budging to go below 15L or letting me take my own insurance. He says if you take your own insurance final price will be 14.75L. Anyone got a better deal?

Has anyone heard about change in the registration cost structure from January 1st ? Seems like A new cess is going to be added. Probably 5% for petrol and 10% for diesel.
Some say it’s only for engines of 1500cc and above.
Please tell. As My dealer is pestering me to take the delivery of venue S(o) IMT before 1st January 2023

Kia cars get dearer by up to Rs. 1 lakh from January 1

Kia has increased the prices of its models by up to Rs. 1 lakh from January 1, 2023, with the EV6 electric crossover receiving the highest quantum of the price hike.



If you are in the market for a Seltos diesel this year, be ready to shell out Rs. 50,000 more. Prices of the petrol version have also increased by Rs. 20,000, while the turbo-petrol variants cost Rs. 40,000 more.

The Sonet is one of the popular models in Kia’s line-up. Prices of the petrol and turbo-petrol variants have increased by Rs. 20,000 and Rs. 25,000, respectively. Diesel variants of the compact SUV command a premium of Rs. 40,000.

Kia has also increased the prices of the Carens from January 1, 2023. The petrol variants have gotten dearer by Rs. 20,000, while the turbo-petrol variants now cost Rs. 25,000 more. Diesel variants of the Carens receive a price hike of Rs. 45,000.

My local Hyundai dealer just sent across an updated price list for 2023. Price increments seem in line with the corresponding Kia models for the most part.

Even after paying a significant amount as taxes we neither get lemon laws nor any accountability from the govt in terms of ensuring we produce better drivers & manufacturers are producing safer cars. Can somebody please throw some light on 'environment tax' @ 1% on diesel cars mainly in NCR region?

I was given a price list which mentioned this but unable to find anything online. Even the cardekho quote doesn't mention any such tax on price breakup for a new car

Environment tax is charged on cars having diesel engines over 2000cc.
