Hey mates,
I approached 3 Maruti dealers here in Chennai to get quotes for Ritz VXI.
1. Cars India, Valasaravakkam - The customer service was pathetic. The rep's attitude was rude, didn't have any knowledge about the product and didn't even bother to answer my questions since he was busy staring at his mobile.
1.Cost of vehicle - 4,71,475
2.Insurance - 13222
3.Road tax/reg./number plates/handling charges - 65836
Discount - 25,000 cash discount with no free accessories
2. ABT Maruti, Ambattur Estate - Customer service was good.Met Mr.Chandru, a very pleasant and knowledgeable man. He took time and explained each and every feature about the car and never ever rushed anything. I took TD of Ritz VDI since the petrol version was not available. I was satisfied with overall experience.
1.Cost of vehicle - 4,71,475
2.Insurance - 13222
3.Road tax/reg./number plates/handling charges - 65836
4. 0% depreciation insurance - 3523 + 337 (No idea what it is.)
Discounts - 25,000 cash discount with 5 to 6 free accessories.
3. Indus Motors, Kattupakkam - This dealer was referred by my buddy.I called the rep and fixed a appointment for TD of Ritz VXI. Called him again the previous night to double check, he told me the vehicle is ready for TD.Went there and *voila* , the rep said the usual dialogue "Just now it went for TD sir". I was wondering why this idiot didn't inform me before.I just took the quote and left.
2 days later, the rep called me and asked whether he can bring the car to my doorstep for a TD.I said yes and asked him to come at 11 AM sharp, for which he said he'll be there at 10.45 itself.I called my dad and asked him to join me for the TD.So he took permission from 11 - 12PM and came to home at 11. We both were waiting, waiting and waiting, he never turned up.Called him at 12.30, he casually told that he was driving the Ritz out of the showroom just now.
My dad lost his cool and went back to office and i being free and having nothing to do, waited, and he arrived at 1.10PM. I didn't even bother to ask why he was late. While taking TD, asked lot of questions, he didn't even bother to look up from his phone. Pissed Off.

Got an update from KHT -
No discounts for a T-Jet at present
Handling charges include "registration charges" at the RTO + the bribes, that they can waive off, if we take the vehicle with a Temp Registration (At a cost of 750/-)
Standard Fitment - Can be waived off / given free - Floor mats/carpet/air freshener.
Has anyone actually managed to register their vehicle on their own without a bribe? What are the charges involved?

It is really interesting to note the stand of car manufacturer.
Quote:
“In this case, the manufacturer is exempted from penalty, who argued that the sale of vehicles stands concluded when they are handed over to the dealer, which was accepted by the Forum,”
|
Does this means that the dealers are individual identity with no linkage to the manufacturers? Tomorrow car manufacturer can claim that their sale is concluded and hence not responsible for any defects at dealers end. My understanding was that dealer is representative of the company and my dealings are honored and has the backing of the company. May be fellow members can share their thoughts.

Exactly :thumbs up, I dont buy for the dealer's name, for that matter no one does. I buy because of the manufacturer name and I see the dealers as a part of the manufacturer, who connects the buyer and the manufacturer.
If the manufacturer says that it has nothing to do with the dealer once the car is sold to them, does that also means that they dont have anything to do with a buying customer? What If the dealership's take this stand against the customer?

I did when I bought FIAT Palio 1.6 Sport. I paid Rs 800 for temp registration in Bangalore and then registered it in Hubli, by purchasing the armed forces stamps for Rs 150/-. The bribe is only Rs 150=00.
But this was in 2006.
Fiat discounts are up on the homepage .
Still no discounts for the T-jet though...

The catch, it's not a catch, but a huge spider web.
The 1.87L down payment mentioned does not include road tax and insurance. In Bangalore the total down payment is 3.94L. There are no EMIs in 2015, but in 2016, the EMI is 17,xxx/-, in 2017 it is 22,xxx/- and it increases. The loan is for the period of 4 years. The 48th installment will be a bullet payment of remaining loan amount.
Just don't bother with such gimmicks. Gave an earful to sales executive who called me.
Today we booked Swift Zdi by paying 5000/-.
The SR is not allowing to taking Insurance n Rto from outside. He is giving several reasons-
1. For Insurance- You can claim insurance at any Mass. No problem in claims. He has given me 0 Dep policy quote of 30K in the quotation.
I enquired at New India Assurance through my contact and got quote over phone of Rs. ~18900/- for normal policy and Rs. 21927/- for 0 Dep.
2. For Rto- You dont need to do anything. Just bring your old car at the time of delivery and drive out New Swift. I told him that I want Choice No. So I will do Registration myself. On this he told Ok, you give me the receipt of Choice No. Charges paid and we will do the rest.
:Frustrati
Also should I opt for Ext. Warranty of additional 2years/40000 kms for Rs 9600/-?
The SR is telling if I dont take Ext. Warranty, I would have to answer to "Maruti" giving reasons for not opting Ext. Warranty.
