re: The "NEW" Car Price Check Thread - Track Price Changes, Discounts, Offers & Deals

With ref. to the post no. 5060 above...
My father advised me to enquire about the New i20 (Elite) too. So today I went to Gandhi Wheels, the Hyundai Dealer in Solapur.
When I took the quotation, I told the SR that I want to exchange our old car. After giving the quotation, he explained the car's features to me (which the Maruti SR did not in case of Swift/Dzire).
Then he called another person (Mr. Venkatesh) over phone and requested to come over there to find out the value of our old car. Mr. Venkatesh came and saw the car inside out and asked me my expected price to which I told 2.1 Lakhs (I know I am asking too much but you know how to get more out of your old car). He gave me offer of 60-70K mentioning Dicor engine equipped Tata Cars don't fetch resale value as that of TDI or Quadrajet Engine equipped Tata Cars. .
When I told him that I got offer of 175K (instead of 125K) from Chavan Motors while I wanted to exchange it for Swift. To which he replied "Sir, the offer given to you includes the Exchange bonus discount. You ask them the naked valuation of your car and then see the price quoted by them". I asked "The 'New' Swift has been launched in Nov and how can they give discount on a newly launched car" to which he said "Sir, we can give 70K Max for this car" since we have to change all the four tyres with new ones, replace left tail-light and other touch ups which will cost us around 25-30K".

Now I am confused- Should I go for Swift ZDI (Cheaper OTR of 836K and offering me 125K for our old car) or i20 Asta (Expensive OTR of 898K and offering me 70K for our old car)?

i20 offers me more legroom, larger boot space, Looks a class above over the swift.
As per the Solapur Dealer, the waiting period for i20 is 1.5 months. i.e. if I book now, I will get delivery around 15 Jan.

I want to know from i20 Elite Owners, how is the manoeuvrability and ease of parking (I know it comes with Rear Parking Sensors and Camera) in city traffic conditions and the ride quality on the Low Profile 195/55R16 Tyres?

What is the typical Waiting period for i20 elite as well as swift zdi?

Why not sell the old car online/broker, and pick up the i20?

re: The "NEW" Car Price Check Thread - Track Price Changes, Discounts, Offers & Deals

All, would anyone be able to tell me the price of Pajero sports before the current model launched on 15 th November ?

The price go

Price of new PS is 23.75 ex showroom. I remember reading somewhere that price of the Pajero was dropped to 22.6 and I assume this was for the pre November model. Can this be confirmed ?

The dealer has one car in stock of the old model. I'm trying to negotiate with him and don't want to start by price of new ex showroom price which is higher by a lack.

From an economics point of view:

For your kind of running, the ddis equipped swift will prove to be more fuel efficient and maintenance-free in the long run.

Thanks, I was thinking down that line.

I had a chat with him today and asked for a 1L Discount on the T-jet.

Its a sept car, Not sure if this is a good idea but negotiating none the less.

BTW the Sales Rep said that T-jets are selling like "Hot Cakes"

they sold 3 cars in November

Thanks,
Slick

Keep us posted on this one. If you manage to extract close to that amount, it would be a temptation to some of the people on the Forum.

Three T-jets by one dealer in Mumbai in a month is something.

What would be a good discount on the T-jet if booked during December?, I am assuming the car is at least a month old and max 2 months.

Slick
@slick - Did the folks at FIAT get back to you on the discount? Also, how old is the car?

For the 2014 T-Jet Emotion, the VIN allotted is for cars manufactured in June 2014!

Are there any word of discounts on the T-Jet ?

3 cars in a month by a dealer is really an achievement for fiat Joke of the decade.
But car is hoot to drive and safe as well. I actually feel its worth 11L here in bangalore because there is so much to like about it. I am waiting for an update from you. If discount is 1L, i might buy as well.

PS: I had booked previous gen Tjet last year but later cancelled as i was travelling abroad. I had managed to get disc of over 1.2L (This was much before news of an all new linea came out).

@Slick Any word on the discounts for the T-jet? I assume this is for the 2014 facelift version right?

The booking number I received for a Tuscan wine T-jet Emotion from Fiat Cafe Bangalore (KHT) is for a June 2014 manufactured car, and yet there are no discounts!

I called up KHT fiat last week and they offered me free insurance + some 6K towards corporate discount for new linea tjet. They asked me to come down to showroom for further discussion.

re: The "NEW" Car Price Check Thread - Track Price Changes, Discounts, Offers & Deals

I seem to have quite the opposite experience with KHT - they offered me the insurance for free, but then said that they have an email from FIAT asking them to cancel all offers for the T-Jet .

I had booked the T-Jet the same day, so they agreed to give me free insurance (but nothing else).

Last saturday, I got a call saying I must pay/invoice immediately (in November) , if I wanted to retain the free insurance offer.

Keeping my fingers crossed if there are juicy offers for December !

Yes Linea 2014.
I really doubt they'll give me a 1L discount but I started at that figure as a baseline for negotiations.
its just one car in gold colour and they have been pretty clear that colour cannot be different.
I hope they agree though ,

I don't understand why even in Dec they don't have discounts when they are struggling so much, Suicidal really, Unless they have very less margins.
