The old base model X1, without an iDrive had been offered to me at 23 lakhs, a discount of 9.5 lakhs but I did not like it. I have no idea of the discounts on the new X1.

I know this isn't true with Maruti suspending production of petrol cars due to excess inventory and slowing demand.

Autobahn in Mumbai was offering 4.5L off the Superb Ambition TDi A/T. It works out to around 23L OTR Mumbai - a sweet deal!
In fact, it is the same price as the Laura L&K.

It might be true as when I enquired for a petrol Dzire in Chennai, one dealer had 2 vehicles in his yard and another dealer quoted me 3-4 months waiting period. The first dealer had a 2012 model (this was in Feb 2013), on which he offered a discount of 5000 Rs.

But both of them refused to give any discounts on the car. So there really might not be discounts available. This was in Chennai.

It is true. During my last visit I was told due to excess demand, the production had been switched to the oil burner, hence now the case is such that you can get a diesel DZire in less than a month, but certain Petrol variants (VXI with ABS) can go upto 3 months. But not all.

I've got a first-offer OTR of INR 6.5l on a Swift ZXI (VIN ending LC - Nov '12) / Torque Blue, from a dealer in Tvm.

1. Dealer claims, the car reached them in Jan '13 and has been a showroom display-car. LXIs & VXIs are the fast-movers, & hence get driven around for Maruti's 'infamous' road-shows & not ZXIs. Even claims Swifts don't go on road-shows. Is this true?

2. Condition of usual suspects like rubber components, tyres, seat-railings etc, and interiors/exterior seem to live-up to the above dealer-claim.

3. The waiting period for the Swift ZXI at all dealers in Tvm, is upwards of 2 months + hopeful-smile. The above dealer says he can get me a ZDI Torque Blue, by end-March.

Question is, how much more should I be able to bring the 6.5l down, by? SMEs/Gurus - Any pointers would be greatly appreciated!!

My friend just bought two Superbs from Autobahn 1.8TSI Elegance for 23 OTR Thane.
The diesel at 23 OTR mumbai seems indeed a very good deal.

Finally they have started discounting the new 3, it's sales were getting murdered by the heavily discounted 520d. 4.5L off on the 320d is a super deal, what does ex-showroom thane work out to after this discount?

Everything is on the OTR. Ex-showroom prices before discount and octroi are 30 and 34 lakhs.
