It is actually a 1,248 cc engine. Fiat and Maruti keep harping on "1.3 litre" but my middle school mathematics class tells me 1,248 should be rounded off to 1.25 (ideally) or 1.2 instead of 1.3.

We are going off topic here in Sales thread here. As per your middle school mathematics class, it's 1.2 l but all I wanted to say is that the engine in SX4 is no way highly underpowered.

Re: November 2011 : Indian Car Sales & Analysis

GTO - I think the Xylo's figures have been mis-printed by mistake. I saw the sudden drop in Xylo's sales and then did a little research:
M&M passenger vehicles, including Scorpio, XUV500, Xylo, Bolero and Verito, stood at 17,813 units. Add all the five vehicle's sales and it doesnt match up to 17,813 units. I think Xylo's sales stood at 2399 units for November 2011. Do check..

Toyota is letting its service levels slip hard and fast and with the arrival of their cheap compact cars its only a matter of time.

Just had a personal experience when my A/C on my corolla stopped working and they scheduled my car for repair after 8 days

Also talked to a few corolla owners in the waiting lounge where everyone seemed to share the same thought..Toyota fast losing its premium tag....too many Innovas coming in for service(Most of them being Private Taxi's, Rental cars & Taxi's)

Also felt Etios and Liva interiors too cheap for their price and compared to the competition. Personally I hate the odometer in the center!!

Looks like they need to increase their service centers in preperation for higher volumes, and FAST! If Innova volumes are hard to manage - situation will only worsen now - after the introduction of Etios twins.

Don't want to generalize, but I have seen this even for Maruti in Mumbai. They are just too happy do "paid service" job for the thousands of vehicles that are getting added to the city every month.

The industry is growing, but the dealer network and service infrastructure is not really catching up.

Thanks Bunny. I just double-checked the data that I've received, and it does read 1637 for the Xylo.

With all this, the Sales people do not want any sales it seems. I enquired about diesel Liva, waiting period was told as 4 months. For Petrol Liva , it is 3 months in Kerala. Nippon toyota group is handling total Keral franchise for Toyota. Probably some one has to instill reality in their sales people's minds.

15,948 units for a month is all-time high for Toyota in India!
Etios/Liva is slowly but surely getting into the hearts of Indians like the music of A R Rahman.

Wow a good month for Nano. 7.5K is a great number. As usual a dismal performance by fiat. Sales almost equal to the name of a slow selling model (fiat 500
