That was really an eye opener. WagonR sales almost double that of Zen!.. hmm who would have thought of this scenario 5 years back!

This is both good news and bad news.

Good news because the looks of the updated zen are no more exciting. And the interiors remained almost the same for the last 12 years.

Bad news because, Zen was an era in the india auto industry. It was one car in india that caught the attention of people of all ages.

If the production is really stopped, resale prices of used Zens may go up. There are still many people who like the looks of jelly bean shaped Zen compared to the tall boys.

Zen was definitly the boy racer's dream.. because it was so affordable and had a revv happy engine . However, now, there are better options available in the market, and with cars like Santro, Indica, WagonR offering more space and practicality at the same price, with much more contemporary looks, the demise of Zen was inevitable.

It had to happen....kinda sad as I liked the Zen.
I wouldnt lose sleep if the 800 would vanish though to be honest...

But since they only had a facelift 2 yrs ago maybe they could have gone and sold it for a year or two more?

Sorry.. Off topic but what needed to be killed on priority was the coffin on wheels - OMNI!!

And The old Zen was better - much better to look at - Strange how all thier zen makovers looked much worse than the original (rememeber the Zen Classic )

I don't think they'll kill off the Omni so fast. It's got a good following among the delivery people, pharma, etc. especially the LPG variant.
