Zen is dead, long live Zen!!!
SX4 will in my opinion not be a zen replacement. It is based on Swift platform. This is the same car that was developed in JV with Fiat (Sedici is Fiat's version).

zen to be stopped production !!!!!!

MUL has decided to phase out the ZEN. THe Zen has been a loss making programme for quite some time now. . .

Surprising to know that, coz i personally loved the vehicle and i thought it was good value for money and sold well. . .

But anywys adios to the GREAT ZEN!!!!!!

Nope. The zen was, in fact, one of the biggest cash cows for Maruti. Selling a 15 year old design for 4 lac rupees after all your equipment has already depreciated to zero value translates to only huge $$$$. The Zen was a significant contributor to Marutis bottom line.

I doubt if they will bring the new zen in 2-4 months.....even if they do it will be in some other segment else it will hinder the sales of swift....

Yes guys.. read it in the newspapers too.

The Zen is NOT DEAD. Zen will come back, better, more powerful, and in a more modern avatar.

exactly what i told him. I even told him that MUL shud discontinue the Esteem now that the Baleno is in the esteem price range. infact working on the exterior and interior of the Baleno shud be the top priority now. but i guess - old habits die hard........

In case someone didn't belive him,i'd would like to say that
the Zen replacement will carry the Zen name and it will be
in showroom by june 2006 but the size is smaller than Getz
and you can expect the unexpected from its new engine which
will arrive by early 2007.

Zen Stopped! whats the effect on resale price?

As zen production is now stopped, how it would affect the resale value of the car?
When I asked maruti for quote for selling Zen Lxi, 9000Km March 05, they offered me 2.45L
