Pearl Plan.pdf

I hate such moments, but it's an irony of life that we learn after falling only. Feel sorry for you Sam.

Happened to me as well, but thankfully i hadn't needed to empty my pockets as car went to total loss.

Then and there I started hunting for something where i can save lots of money with a little premium.

Landed over http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/indian...insurance.html and researched for it.

Found 2 companies offering 0% depreciation policies.
a) Bajaj Allianz
b) Tata AIG

I picked up up Bajaj Allianz due to some issues where-in TATA AIG wasn't supporting for my corolla.

However, while researching I find TATA AIG plan much more useful practically.

Good part is as you are already insured with TAIG, I would suggest to visit @ Motor Insurance Solutions, Car Insurance Features, Vehicle Insurance and fill up form so they can be in-touch with you for the proceedings.

Attaching the TAIG plan presentation. In case, any clarification do shoot up a pm.

Will be happy to help you anyhow.

Cheers

Perhaps you did not read the entire post.

I am in a good position as far as insurance is concerned. TAIG has helped me satisfactorily and I did indeed have ) depreciation.

re: 0% Depreciation Insurance - It really worked for me!

makes sense to get this '0% depreciation package' in case one employs the services of a driver and/or owns a really expensive car.

re: 0% Depreciation Insurance - It really worked for me!

There are a few things that one should know:

The cover is only available for vehicles up to 3 years old.

Maximum of two claims in a policy period.

Which means that if your car is 4 years old, you cannot take this. I just recently got my insurance done but I couldn't choose this option as my car is now 4 years old.

These have additional features like NCB protection. Here you can repair any plastic, glass parts, fibres (don't know how that can be done though) and claim insurance without any hit to your NCB. The others Sam has already mentioned.

So for those of us who are uninitiated, how much dearer is the 0% depreciation option over the other plain vanilla insurance. 10%-15%-20%?

Just so that we understand the financial implications of this.

And Sam, there are n00ber (if I may use that term) people than you when it comes to cars. Be rest assured you don't have a monopoly there

I Think this is called a Pearl Poicy. I have opted for the same on my new Figo. I did not know that such an option existed. However since I work for the Tata group and this car is a company leased vehicle, I had to go to TATA AIG for insurance. The Tata Capital tolfld me about the two options and I opted for the Pearl and after reading Sam's experience, I am happy that I did.

The difference in case of a Ford FIgo Diesel( Titanium ) was approx Rs 2700.

re: 0% Depreciation Insurance - It really worked for me!

This is brilliant information. Kudos to T-bhp!!!

by the way why is that TATA AIG is preferred over Bajaj Allianz or any other Insurance guy, is it competitive or anything else? Pls elucidate.

re: 0% Depreciation Insurance - It really worked for me!

Good to know TAIG processed the claim smoothly.

I also took this 0% depreciation + engine hydro lock protection, etc from Bajaj Allianz for the Laura. The issue is - it's only offered for cars less than 3 years old (as csenthil mentioned).

BTW, it's the plastic and rubber parts that generally are covered only 50% by regular insurance. Glass is always covered 100%. My Hyundai Tucson is covered by regular insurance and still my windshield was covered 100% by Bharati AXA when it had to be replaced due to concrete lump falling on it.

re: 0% Depreciation Insurance - It really worked for me!

Thats a great piece of info Sam.

I was ignorant and suffered. My car was in the garage for 2 weeks and I didnt know I could avail the 'Daily Allowance' clause (when I asked, the Call Center also had no clue).

re: 0% Depreciation Insurance - It really worked for me!

Learn something new everyday! Thanks for sharing this info, Sam...though I won't be able to make much use of it. Why? I'm going the "pre-worshipped" way for life and this zero % depreciation policy is only valid for <3 year old cars.

I hear you on the compliments to Tata-AIG. Have been a customer for 7 years, with multiple insurance policies, and have ended up extremely satisfied at the time of claims. Agreed with Lurker too; if you own an expensive / European car, this 0% depreciation is highly recommended.

How much would it have cost you to get regular insurance cover and, of course what did you pay for this enhanced policy?

re: 0% Depreciation Insurance - It really worked for me!

oriental also provides the same plan.

though not sure whether in my car's insurance, the key is covered or not.

it's not just skoda's keys that are criminally expensive!! fiat (desmo something they call it) toyota, honda bla bla all have freakishly expensive keys. one should get the key covered in the insurance too. basically all the smart keys (which have lock/unlock remote in them) are quiet expensive and foldable ones are usually the most clinkered around with.
