Which is the better Car Insurance provider

I have an 11 year old Zen. I want to renew my car insurance next month and am wondering whether to go with Bajaj Allianz or New India Assurance. I already have only 3rd party insurance from New India Assurance currently but I'm thinking of going for comprehensive insurance from Bajaj Allianz. Thing is, I'm wondering if these national insurance companies are as efficient in processing in case of an accident as private ones . I don't want the hassle of following up with these fellows.

For eg: Bajaj Allianz has a 24 hr helpline and my friend who already had an accident got his claims processed fast. But they did not cover plastic parts and the stupid agent said that they would cover either front or back side only in the accident. (My friend was hit in the back and this forced the car to hit another in the front). So, I'm wondering which is better.

1) Can you please share your experiences good or bad with these insurance providers or suggest another provider?

2) Also, I called up Allianz and gave details of my car. He estimated value at 1.5L and said I have to pay 4K as premium. I paid 1.1L for the damn thing two years ago. And he is saying that since my last policy was 3rd party, there won't be any no claim benefit. Am I getting conned here?

Actually, I would like specific answers to my case.

1) I would like to know if I can avail of no claim bonus when switching insurance providers and moving from 3rd party to comprehensive insurance. So I would like to know if anyone has been in this same situation.

2) I would also like to know if one feels that 1.5L for a Dec 1996 Zen(which has some damage on the right side front door) is a proper valuation in today's market.
