I paid the octroi and reg fees in cash. From then on, everything happened at lightning speed. They drove the car from their stockyard in Panvel, while simultaneously completing their other formalities. They got a temporary reg done in record time, and I was able to drive out with the car in 1 hour from the time I confirmed the order.

Thats one area where I think some of the PSU banks score. They have low or no foreclosure charges as compared to the pvt banks.

Its not just that they also let you do partial payouts.

Ex if you take a loan of say 3L from syndicate bank, they dont mind you paying 30000, or even 2000 whenever u feel like as a partial payout, it will reduce your amount from the principle directly and hence your interest from the subsequent emi's will reduce and thereby bringing closer your closure date.

cheers:

mmm... i thought that I had the last emi to be paid next month, but seems like the last emi was already deducted at the start of this month! :-) :-)

i tried to check my loan detail in ICICI site and I was not able to view the details. Wrote to ICICI and they called me today. seems like if the loan is closed, then I will not be able to view the details. Great.

and it seems that since my loan is closed, they have already sent the documents across to me on the 16th (3 days back) itself! Both the NOC and the cheques!

Talk about service! :-)

Loan NOC and Hypothecation removal: Pls Help

I have 800 loaned by ICICI on 1999, all loan was cleared on 2002, and ICICI issues the NOC and other letter for hypothecation removal. But for some reason we could not apply for removal.

And now this NOC is 6 yrs old.
Can I use the same NOC now?
Will ICICI issue new NOC without any problem?
What could be the problems now?

No I think the NOC will have a limited period mentioned on it, pls check, if youc ant find anything, it can be used.

If the NOC by ICICI has expired, call them up and they will re-issue one for a charge.

No problems if you have the NOC from ICICI, your signatures should match the ones given to the RTO when you bought the 800.

I think Form#35 issued by the Finacier has a validity of 90 days. You can request them to re-issue Form#35 and submit the same to RTO with required documents (RC Book in original, Current/Valid insurance, NOC Letter from Financier).

Question on Registration Change and Hypothecation Removal

Hi,

I had purchased a car financed by ICICI bank and the car was
hypothecated with the bank. Now that the loan has been repaid, I've
been given a NOC by the bankers along with form 35 duly filled in
duplicate.

My vehicle bears a DL-3C registration, I understand that i am supposed
to go to Seikh Sarai Authority office where I need to pursue the
matter. can someone tell me the process for Hypothecation change and
their experiences doing this. How much is the fee required to have the
hypothecation removed from the registration documents. Few months back I moved from delhi to bangalore but had not got my vehicle re-registered in bangalore, will that be a problem. Delhi RTO would anyway get to know that as I would be producing a bangalore PUC.

Also pls shed some light if this is a one day accross the table job?

Thanks in advance
Pradeep

I just got my NOC from ICICI because I foreclosed one car loan to buy a new one.
Yes it is correct that the ICICI NOC is valid for 90 days from the date of issue.

You get two NOC's - one for the RTO and another for your Insurance Service Provider

rakbharat: you probably got your work done by now, but here's my experience with NOC and hypothication...
I was issued a NOC by ICICI two years ago. Since it was valid for only 90 days, I got a fresh one from their service center by paying 100 Rs. Of course if you oder it on phone its free, but take couple of weeks to reach you.
After getting NOC from them, filled up form 35 at RTO, paid 100 Rs. for removal of hypothecation. At the same time filled up form 28 for NOC, and submitted everything to RTO only yesterday. I guess I will have to wait for a month now to get the NOC and RC book back.

BTW, the experience at RTO was painful. Also the process is very very long. I wish I had just paid 1K to agent and got my NOC done in a days time.

Any idea how to expedite the NOC of foreclosed loan?

I have foreclosed my car loan on 11th June from ICICI, and they promised me that NOC will reach me in 7 days, after 7 days they said it will take another 7days, and all together they are playing around and i am yet to recieve my NOC and this is 4th week running after my foreclosure. Am constantly calling the bank to check, and inspite of their commitmment to send through speed post they have now dispatched it through ordinary post and its already past 10 days.

I would appreciate any of your suggestions to fasten (or workaround) to get the NOC much faster

I closed two Car Loan Accounts of Mine in the recent past, the first time they took about 3 week's for the NOC, The Second Time i got it in 2 weeks.

Both the times i had to call their Customer Care after a week and tell them i hadnt received the NOC, Make them register a request / complaint and make sure i got a request / complaint number....

i too had same kind of problem with ICICI, and one more thing when you get NOC just have a check if the seal and signature of ICICI is there or else you RTO people wont accept it.. i had to re-submit twice to RTO because of this wasted 2 days running around...
