This is good move by Hyundai. Diesel manual and automatic make up good chunk of sales for new Creta.

Some of our forum members have run into issues with Hyundai/Kia BS6.2 diesel engines. This will be a peace of mind as long as all parts for DPF are covered in the extended warranty. This move has the potential to get some additional Kia customers to buy a Hyundai.

The price shown in your screenshot (₹52,099 + GST) does not seem to match with the figures shown in extended warranty PDF.

The PDF prices are for new and existing customers who are still within 0-90 days bracket from purchase date.

Screenshot price differ cause my car has crossed 0-90 days bracket and is 5 months old

Re: Hyundai launches extended warranty for 6th and 7th year for its diesel cars

Hello BHPians,
I have booked Hyundai Creta IVT from Trident Hyundai Bangalore and Delivery is going to take place in next 4 days.
As suggested by many BHPians, I have decided to take 7 yrs-1 lack KM extended warranty(EW). The sales person had initially said that the cost for 7 yrs (1 Lack km) extended warranty is Rs 44270.
On 31st March he called me and said prices for EW will go up from April so better take today itself and I gave the go ahead.
But then he checked again and said that the warranty will actually cost Rs 53216.
He shared a screenshot showing the same figure over WhatsApp.
He deleted the screenshot soon but just before he deleted I saw a column with header commission(which I assume is dealer commission),
The commission amount being somewhere in between 4k-5k.
I guess this is the reason he immediately deleted the screenshot.
I told him to wait as I thought to double check if EW can be purchased at a cheaper rate online or anywhere else.
Additionally, I want to know a little bit about dashcam.

Even on Hyundai website there is a PDF price sheet with the heading "Comprehensive EW Price List for Sales ( 0~90 Days of Sale/Delivery)"
So, I request anyone having the following info to guide me
  1. Where to get the 7 Yrs Extended warranty from at the best price?
  2. Can it be purchased directly online from Hyundai Website?
  3. Are there any implications if I do not purchase from dealer?
  4. I assume getting a value for money dashcam installed from outside accessory shop will not cause any warranty(electrical) issue, just thought to confirm.

Thanks in advance!

Rs.53,216.82 is the exact price of the extended warranty for Creta Petrol Automatic vehicles (Rs.45,099 + 18% GST) for a 7-year extended warranty. I think your SA fumbled and quoted the wrong amount initially.

I have attached the price list for your reference.

The price definitely includes dealer commission, which is approximately 10%. There is nothing wrong here either.

In Kia, there is an option to purchase the extended warranty through the My Kia app. If I remember correctly, the same is also applicable via the Hyundai app, where we can purchase the EW, Service package, etc, as well.

Now to answer your questions, there is no best price, and the price mentioned in this PDF is the only price, and dealers won't charge you more than this.

No, it can't be purchased online through the Hyundai website, but it can be purchased through the Hyundai App, wherein we have to log in using our VIN or car registration number, and an OTP is sent to your phone. Even if you purchase there, it is still invoiced through the dealership, so it doesn't matter, and they still get their commission as the price is the same everywhere.

You have no option other than to purchase it from the dealer if you want the extended warranty package be it direct or through the app.

The Hyundai dashcam is overpriced and you can get much better ones elsewhere at similar or lower price points, and it doesn't void warranty as no wires are cut, which by the way wont be required for a dashcam installation which is quite straightforward.
