Re: Acko & Digit, the new insurance firms. Any reviews?

I was trying to get the details of the cashless garages that Acko has a agreement with. Surprisingly, they refused to share details of cashless garages that they have a tie-up with. My main concern is them recommending a FNG instead of authorized service centers for insurance claims and I would like to validate that they have both authorized and FNG garages in the cashless garage list.

Has anyone experienced Acko claim process in Bangalore for Mahindra vehicles?

I asked them a question about this and their answer was very vague. They said we have authorised service centers and garages with registered GST numbers.

I had to upload pictures of the registration certificate and my driving license.

The surveyor had clicked the pics of the damage and processed it further.
Acko then followed it up with a rough estimate of the repairs along with deductions and depreciations. The prices seemed to match that as quoted by the FNG. Once I concurred, the amount got credited under advanced cash settlement, though they said it may take about 48hrs for processing.

Great

My experience was also similar, except that there was no visit by the surveyor. Acko estimated around 11k for repairs and credited 8.8k in my account. The amount was credited within 2 hours after I approved the offer. FNG has quoted only 6k for the repairs

Re: Acko & Digit, the new insurance firms. Any reviews?

My 7 year old Honda City SV CVT is due for renewal this March. Last year I only had comprehensive policy as there was no option for zero dep when I renewed. This year, searching on various sites, came across ACKO which is offering Zero Depreciation Super saver policy. Looking at various forums (twitter handle and playstore reviews), I'm seeing lot of negative reviews so very confused whether I should go with Acko. I am based in Bangalore and most of driving is local (not much recently due to Covid situation). Also, recently, there was a tie up of Acko with Pitstop. For the zero dep policy, there is a clause that I need to go via Acko only , else pay Rs 5000. Now I'm assuming (since they are not telling which are their network garages), that the car will end up going to one of the Pitstop garages since they have done a tie up/invested money. Pitstop as well has lot of mixed reviews (more on negative side). So at this point , I'm really confused on whether to go with Acko (giving super competitive rates be it comprehensive or zero dep), or go with one of the standard ones (only option is comprehensive). I still have few days but any pointers would really help.

I went with Edelweiss - refer this link for pricing details: Link (Automobile Insurance Queries? Ask me)

Check if they will accommodate moving from Non-Zero Dep back to Zero Dep

I read negative reviews on Twitter too, but one must remember that reviews tend to gravitate towards being negative. Most people who leave reviews are doing so to vent or highlight their issues, others who have had normal or even pleasant experiences, rarely come online to praise the company.

I went ahead with Acko because of the experiences posted by our fellow members. Most seem to be satisfied with the speed at which their claims were disposed off and the compensation amount.

Re: Acko & Digit, the new insurance firms. Any reviews?

I approached Godigit for ending OD and NCB certificate. This is purely an ops task and they're handling it very well. Have tried thrice, unsuccessfully, to get them to quote to me for a new car insurance with NCB. The guy at Oriental was very patient, knew the process and handled it perfectly. Went with them.

It all boils down to the people handling your task & it's up to them to delight you. CSAT dept's do not have the time to sift through all call recordings.

Re: Acko & Digit, the new insurance firms. Any reviews?

I am planning to get my new Harrier XZA insured with Digit or Acko through PolicyBazaar since they have the lowest quote and quite liking their policy of partial advance payment of assessed claim amount. The dealer's quote of around 12 to 15 K more than what I am getting in PolicyBazaar. Does getting the insure done through Digit or Acko makes sense for the brand new vehicle and enjoy the lower quote too or being just and face step motherly attitude from both authorized garage and the insurer in case there is a claim (touchwood).

Re: Acko & Digit, the new insurance firms. Any reviews?

Hi..if it helps others. Insurance for my 5 year old car was due for renewal. Explored with Ergo (current), Digit and Acko.

Digit said they offer remote assistance as a complimentary cover. Provided a higher IDV for my car. Ergo's quote was around the same. A little lesser in fact but it was difficult to work with them to remove some addons add RSA etc. Every email would take 2 days to get a response and with something or the other missing.

Acko - no follow up from anyone. Gave a good price. Including zero dep cover. But was a little apprehensive as zero dep cover is usually not given on cars >5 years old. No one to ask either. Also reports on this forum on their list of authorised garages not being available anywhere was a concern.. Digit provided confirmation that they have cashless tie up with Ford service centres. Hence went with Digit. Smooth process to buy. Fingers cross that I won't have to use them at all.

Re: Acko & Digit, the new insurance firms. Any reviews?

Guys.. pardon me if this appears to be a noob question, but I've never done insurance claims for smaller repairs till date so I'm kind of clueless on this subject.

My wife's Figo has been taking quite a beating since the past 10 months. Over that that time-span, there have been multiple dings on both front fenders and bumpers. They were livable, so i didn't bother.
Yesterday, the car scraped against one of the apartment pillars when my brother-in-law was pulling it out of the parking. The result was large scrape on the rear fender, replete with it's paint knocked off.

Can I get all the dents (including the older ones) removed in one claim?
If not, which is the cheapest way I can get the car back to shape?
How easy/difficult is this process with Acko?

It is a 7 year old Figo with 75K on the odo; and due to lack of space, we park it on the road. Honestly, there's not much use for a second car in the house now. But somehow, the heart doesn't agree to part ways with it. I still ogle at it whenever I pass by; and I want it restored to it's past glory.

No. You can only fix the recent damage (accident) using the insurance claim. Multiple accidents are usually not considered by the Insurance companies. You can claim it as a self-accident and raise a insurance claim with Acko. Regarding the claim process, other members who have availed the same from Acko could clarify better.

Re: Acko & Digit, the new insurance firms. Any reviews?

Does Acko have tie up with Honda service centres?
My concern is leaving the car at some random FNG, during the claim process.

If someone has first hand experience of claim with a Honda car, kindly do advise!

You can, provided you are able to show that all of them happened in a single incident. Surveyors know their trade, so you'll need to do a very good job convincing them if you're planning to group them into a single claim.

Re: Acko & Digit, the new insurance firms. Any reviews?

Our i10 was with HDFC ERGO and insurance was expiring next week, this time I decided not to go with HDFC ERGO which I had since last three years with no claims. So comparing acko and digit I finally decided to go with acko mainly because of the better reviews and also because it can be bought through amazon. This is my first time purchasing a non-traditional car insurance and hope it does not disappoint if it ever comes to using it but I hope I won't ever have to use it!
