Harsha Toyota in Chennai

As many Chennaites would have noticed, Toyota is gearing up a second dealer in Chennai, HARSHA TOYOTA , breaking the long monopoly of Lanson Toyota. My experience with Lanson Toyota has been very good and i hope that the competition from new dealer pushes both to out-perform each other in terms of service.

Harsha Toyota has its new showroom at Guindy (just before the Le Meridian when going towards the new bridge) and i saw its new workshop in Poonnamalle Bye Pass Road. The showroom looks impressive, but the workshop looked like a refurbished old warehouse with asbestos roofs!!

It would be nice if team-bhpians from Hyderabad could share their experience with Harsha Toyota as it would be a good preempt to what can be expected from them in Chennai.

Advantage Customer !

Saw the ad in the newspaper today. Had bought an Innova from Lanson a few weeks ago and the experience was good. Now with one more dealer in Chennai for Toyota, the competition is bound to pick up which at the end of the day is good for us, the customers.

I beleive Toyota has announced a second/alternate dealer, to end Lanson's monopolistic behaviour in Chennai and to avoid potential customer care lapses.

Harsha Toyota is one among the best dealer in Hyd. They have a good reputation as well.
This belong to a politician in BJP, Though i don't want to reveal his identity. He also own the Hero Honda showroom near Guindy circle.

I see this showroom every day on my way back home from office. Located just a little before the Kathipara grade seperator, near Le Meridian. Looks very impressive from the outside.

@ Ramsagar, I guess it is an open secret on who owns the showroom. Family member of BJP Leader Venkiah Naidu.

The showroom looks good, but nothing special. I personally prefer the looks of Lanson Toyota showroom in Pallikaranai/Koyambedu. It has more glass and more importantly see-through glass and better lighting.

Re: Harsha Toyota in Chennai

Folks - Harsha Toyota is for one year in Chennai now, can some Chennai Toyota owners post their feedback on service quality of Harsha. I am servicing with Lanson for past 2 years and their service is gong horrendous day by day.

MAS - Have you tried with Harsha Toyota??

Re: Harsha Toyota in Chennai

Hi Mates, I had been to Harsha Toyota on November of last year to enquire for the Innova. Unfortunately, it was a sunday. I was met with a sales guy, but the info he provided (though music to my ears) didn't turn out true. He said he would deliver the Innova VX trim in Blue within 5 days of cash payment. When I returned to him via phone the next day, I was put on hold and was delayed for days just to find out the availability. And then one final day, he says he doesn't have the vehicle since he's invoiced it for another customer (which I doubt is the truth). Lanson was a different story. I got the vehicle in a month's time. But again, I wouldn't say it was a pleasant experience since something was missing here. Albeit they did give me a sapling when I got the delivery finally!

Cheers

Re: Harsha Toyota in Chennai

I recently bought my Liva from Harsha. I think the staff at Harsha are more courteous and welcoming than the Staff at Lanson.

Congrats on your new drive Saadat. Lanson off-late have become complacent and even I felt that Harsha are slightly more serious about business. Do put up an ownership thread. Drive safe.

You are right Saadat,
The people in Harsha are much more better than Lanson in transparency and courteous. Until unless you know how to buy a car or bargain, it will not help you to get all the offers from Lanson. Lanson people don't tell you about the offers voluntarily while you talk about the price. Once you start to ask quoting the media etc, they discuss about the offers. Where as in Harsha they give the up to date offers and refund while discussion and even they give it in writing too. I am booking Face lifted Etios next week.

Firstly, congrats on booking your Etios!

Yes, Lanson weren't willing to talk about offers. And that's primarily because Lanson sell about 1000+ vehicles per month and if you dont wanna buy from them, they have another 10 customers in line. Lanson are well established and the moment you think about Toyota, Lanson's the only thing tht comes to our mind.
Harsha on the other hand sell merely 200 vehicles per month. They are new here and are building their brand. And that's the reason they dont wanna let go of the customer. The service too is really good.
Btw, are you booking at the Velapanchavadi branch or the guindy one?
