@ madbullram - I sure will. In fact, I'll go there tomorrow and talk to the manager. Need to know why the "Check Airbags" light came on.

It seems they have replaced the door, But anyways whatever they have done you got smile back on your Face.

Do check with Service manager for action they took. Congrats for your Chevy and enjoy your car.

I do not think they changed the door. Doors are not so easily available so as to get a new one and then take off the old one paint a new one and then put it back on in such a short time. They would have dented-painted it. I am 90% sure of that.

As I was telling you earlier, with modern workshops and paintshops these guys can pull miracles. I saw that when I rubbed my new car's left passenger door against a wall so badly that the door collapsed with lower part paint completely scratched off. I was so sad. I thought they will have to now replace the whole door and that meant misalignment worries. However to my surprise the guys at the SS said they will do a bodywork on it. I was so very skeptical. Almost emptied their brains telling I won't take the car if the difference is visible to me after the work. When I got the car back ultimately I was stupified. It looked like they had put in a new door altogether! Forget the dents even the paintwork matched so well to the rest of the car... But the guy showed me the bill (paid by insurance company). It was for denting painting work only.

some ordeal you went through shuvo.
i'm sure they must have replaced the door from a car in their warehouse.
some poor unsuspecting bunny rabbit is going to get the touched up door on his brand new (sic) car.
am happy that all ended well for you.
in addition to what you did,i still feel you should have lodged a formal complaint seeking redressal from GM.
that would have been a shot in the arm for the dealer.
would have given you much more bargaining power and in future they would worship the ground you walked on.
congrats on your new car!

Zappo
Getting a new door and painting it is a faster process in comparison to denting/ painting the old door itself. Butttttttt it depends upon availability of new door and extent of damage to be repaired too.

I think @shuvd said that they had another magnum of the same colour in stock. So changing could be a possibility.

Anyway, we should know today.

Good to hear that your car's back in good shape. Do let us know after checking with them, I'm pretty sure they replaced the door from the other car in the dealership

Thanks everyone for your support. The Magnum Force is back!

Went to the A.S.S. with shuvc. Checked the door quite minutely. Couldn't find any mismatch.

congrats on the new car.what i really dont understand is why you didnt go with the mechanic for the test drive.i make it a point to go with the mechanic for the test drive so that incase something happens, atleast i know who to blame.this holds true for buying a new car and pointing out any faults during routine servicing.
