Free Service need not be done at the dealer where you bought the car. Any MASS will do it. You can go to Suraksha even in the free service period.

I'm also interested in feedback on E-city Suraksha and if the star manager Mr. Lokesh is still there. My car is due for service and thinking of trying out this place.
Thanks!

Re: Better Maruti service shops in Bangalore? (Please read 1st post before voting)

I had very bad experience at Mandovi Motors, Old Madras Road.

I went there for some minor repair. They opened the job card.

It was taking way longer than the time estimate given by the SA. Finally after a long wait, I went to the workshop area to see for myself. I found an underaged boy working on my car. He was not in Mandovi uniform. I stood there itself.

The boy was clearly struggling. I was shocked to see the crude manner in which he was working on my car. However, I didn't interfere.

I could see other workers also who were not in Mandovi uniform. They didn't look like trained mechanics. They were working on other cars, without any direct supervision. The guy working on the car next to mine, was working like some roadside mechanic with very little care for the car’s paint.

In the meantime, I saw the boy working on my car struggling to put back glass of the front door window. He tried for quite some time without any success. When in desperation he pulled the rubber beading out, I suggested him to seek some help. He called one of mechanics. This guy was in Mandovi (mechanic) uniform. He scolded the boy and started putting the beading back.

I told the mechanic that I didn't expect such work at an authorised service station. He stopped the work and raised his voice. He insisted that I should leave the workshop area. I was not going to leave my car with this maniac. Finally, the SA came there. I am not sure what the mechanic told him in vernacular language.

SA was polite with me. I continued standing there. Mechanic restarted his work. The way he was working, I was in two minds to tell him to stop the work and handover my car back to me in as it is condition. SA could also see his behaviour but didn't say anything to the mechanic. Mechanic was a rowdy type person. SA didn't seems to have any influence on him. However, work got over quickly.

I pointed out to the SA that none of the paddings were put back. SA gave lame excuse.

There were stains all over the car. Car was left as it is without any cleaning. I pointed this out to the other SA. He cleaned it himself.

To be fair, SAs at Mandovi were polite. However, general work being carried out and behaviour of the mechanic were shocking. SAs seems to have no control or intention. This was easily the worst experience that I had in any service station, let alone MASS.

Re: Better Maruti service shops in Bangalore? (Please read 1st post before voting)

I have been getting my car serviced at Surakshaa, Bommanahalli, for the past 6 years and I was quite happy with them and I had no hesitation to travel 20 kms from my home to get the car serviced there, even though there are many service centers close to my place. Recently, about a month ago, I visited them only for engine oil change. During my stay there for a short period, I got the feeling that the earlier enthusiasm is missing among the workers and the atmosphere was kind of laid-back. I am not sure if this change has to do anything with Mr. Lokesh moved from here. Also, I got to know that they have stopped water washing the cars. Now, for my next 40k service, I am a little doubtful whether I will get the same quality of service as before. Should I visit the E-City branch, where Mr. Lokesh is there, for future services. Any recent experiences with the Bomanahalli branch? Is it still as good as before?

Sada,

I got my A-Star serviced at Surakshaa Bommanahalli on 7th Sep 17.
The mechs who attended to my car were professional and did not loiter or waste time. I was with the car throughout. The did a satisfactory job including checking for specific items I mentioned and answering my questions patiently. I was satisfied with the work.
The mechs working on the adjacent two ramps also seemed to be involved in there task without playing around.

They do not have water wash and use foam to wipe the car down. This is a sure way of adding swirls. I do not let the service center wash my car so the absence of water wash did not affect me. I was offered a discound of Rs.350 since I opted out of the wash.

They did not have stock of the headlight and wheel caps though. So if you have some items up for replacement it may be good to call them and have it ordered before the service.

PS: If you do plan to stay with the car make sure you carry some food. There are no decent shops/eateries nearby. Metro demolition is in progress and quite a number of shops/buildings are non functional.

Lokesh who was earlier at EC Surakshaa (GM Service) is now at Attibele over some pilot project. So you can directly ask for him and get your vehicle serviced.

Attibelle is a small setup that is gradually making progress with additional service hoists in coming days as I know.

I need to take my A-Star for the 5yr/50,000 km service. The only two near me in the Yelahanka area are the new Mandovi Service Center near Vidyaranyapura and Nexus Maruti in Yelahanka Old Town. Any feedback on either of them?

Maruti Service is a very expensive proposition.
My fuse for Radio and power socket in my 2004 Alto fused because of a faulty plug. The fuse box is placed under the dashboard and needs a lot of contorting to get to it. I went to the Usual Mandovi Motors where the car is always serviced for past 12 years and even recently in Jan, service was done for ~9k INR.
The SA came, opened the fuse box and replaced the fuse with the spare in about 20 sec. He then told me that both the spare fuses were used up and to get replacements to which I agreed. The cost of the Fuses were 14/- INR and Labour was 120/- INR.
I've replaced fuses at service centers for my other cars and they just do it complementary.

This is the thing with dealer workshops, they charge you even for adjusting a screw. For the very same reason, I have moved on to normal MASS and I am one happy customer for the past 5 years. Atleast I am not unethically charged for things.

Shashi

I think this poll is now obsolete. 10 years is a long time and apart from change in servicing quality over the years, we also have newer stations across the city.

Coming to the poll results, for all the votes that surakshaa got, I have a different story on that. With references, sent my car for servicing. The SA lives close by, so he picked up the car and dropped in the evening. I had told them not to do the usual bill-inflating work - and they did exactly what I had not asked them to. So, now, no more of this ASS.

Hello all,

I am looking for a reliable FNG for my 2008 Maruti SX4 near to Banashankari area. Having had two bad experiences with Sagar Automobiles Bannerghatta road, I am not sure as to which MASS should I try out. The closer it is to my location the better.

You could try 'Mandovi Motors' on JP Nagar Ring Road and Bannerghatta Road Intersection. They are decent workshop with skilled workforce. If you need I can refer some good SAs.

Thanks but somehow not convinced with Mandovi motors.

Is there any other local garage where I can give it for service? All the good ones are either too far or not really good.
