Imagine this happening at a lower oil level in the remote Nippani-Sawantwadi section where I’d have struggled to get the same grade of oil!
It's exactly for that reason alone that you absolutely should keep that liter of oil with you just in case (I do, I've never had to use it though...so far). Consider it a contingency plan that future you might thank you for.

I don’t know how far an action to enforce preventive measures will be implemented to avoid further re-occurrence with other customers.
You really do have to inform them about this potentially calamitous error on their part before you wipe the slate clean and move on. It is absolutely not normal for oil levels to be that low after an oil change without any leaks happening. Say your piece, and live in peace thereafter knowing you did your bit.

Yes! I’ll write in soon, hoping for a reply atleast if nothing more.
There’s Bavaria motors in Goa and Pune(and nothing else). The approximate mid point between the two cities is Kolhapur, where I’ve not found a mention of an authorised BMW service centre so far.
I think it’s best to keep servicing issues limited to Bombay, drive around a bit, and then drive on to wherever.
