I will suggest you to sell the Duster and get a used Sonet iMT for dad. I myself bought one in Feb last year and seems great for ingress egress and light controls.

You might get a sparingly used example at around 10-11L.

Personally would advice against the driver --> Privacy goes for a toss, dependability on driver increases and decreases on flexibility of travel, You are looking at around 3L/ year as driver salary at the minimum.

Re: Need help to reshuffle my garage

Please do consider the fact that the driver won't be available all the time, if everyone else is busy, your dad can't get to his destination, I do agree that Duster has one of the best suspension, my BIL's AWD glides over the road, but yours is already done one lakh, your dad does deserve an upgrade now.

I am suffering from slip disc, I know the pain. Comfort is the main priority which you won't find it in cars like Ignis and Sonet due to their hard suspension, therefore I would suggest you to get a car that has soft suspension and comfortable ride quality, Nexon, Pre-Facelift Brezza, Renault Kiger are one of the best options, they have high ride height too.

In the end if nothing works out, you are not satisfied with any of the test drives, please get an autoclutch system installed in your Duster, it works like iMT, you can look up for it on YouTube too.

Re: Need help to reshuffle my garage

Hiring a driver may turn out costly in long run than buying a new car. If your Dad can drive comfortably, i would say don't go for a driver.

I would suggest you to sell Duster and buy a new C-SUV. I think you can include Nissan Magnite / Renault Kiger to the list.

Ignis is a NO for sure - one is safety - I think it is a 0 or 1 rated car, I was in the market checked out all automatic small/mini SUV's around, nothing could match up with Magnite CVT, picked one up - add Magnite to your list

Magnite AMT or CVT?
I was considering ignis for ride height, fuel efficiency, and peace of mind.

Re: Need help to reshuffle my garage

The Rapid has not run much so I suggest you keep that for a while and just replace the Duster.
Since your Dad has problem with low-seated cars, the Jazz is ruled out.
Get him a used crossover (auto) like a Creta, Seltos or even a XUV 500.

If you guys are happy with the Duster overall, you could also try looking for a used Duster/Terrano CVT. You would essentially get the same car with one of its cons (manual gearbox) sorted out.

Re: Need help to reshuffle my garage

I'm surprised nobody mentioned Punch.
People did mention kiger and magnite, but not the Punch.
It fits the bill perfectly IMO, has ride height, AMT, safety etc.

Or are you guys suggesting the kiger/magnite with Turbo CVT?

The Magnite/Kiger CVT is the one to go for, the AMT is not worth the money. Coming from a Duster, Rapid, these will definitely be downgrades. A used Creta automatic will be a good buy provided you get it at a good price.

As far as Punch goes, everything else is fine apart from the engine and gearbox, its not the most powerful and the AMT ain't the best transmission eiither.
