Thanks for updating me.

I did not know that.

What other options in the range would you suggest?

Hi

Two things in my view

- This one feels heavy to hold. You wont be comfortable to hold and use.. especially reading for long duration.
- The customised kindle UI will take some time to get used to. I personally do not like it.

Re: The Quintessential Tablet PC Thread (Android, Apple, BB et al)

Has anyone tried using a keyboard with their tablet? I am considering buying a keyboard for my Nexus 7 2013. I came across this on ebay-

How good are these keyboards? The reviews on amazon.in are mixed and I can't make up my mind on this

Yeah, I will need to get an OTG too. However, is the product good? Have you used it? I mainly need it to type documents. I intend to connect it only when I type, otherwise they remain unconnected always.

Is your tab rooted? If not, you cannot guarantee the OTG support. Suggest you look for Bluetooth keyboards instead. Easier to carry around and less messy too.

Getting ghost/phantom touches on my Nexus 7 (2013 edition). No idea if it's a hardware or software issue. Any idea what's causing this? Generally works fine after turning the screen off and on. Running 4.4.4 Not rooted.

Please don't do that, These gadgets (especially 'cheap' tabs) are not designed and tested to work in extreme environments which cars tolerate in our extreme weather conditions. You maybe be risking your tab, car and even life.

If you want to use such gadget in your car then atleast don't leave it in parked car.

Re: The Quintessential Tablet PC Thread (Android, Apple, BB et al)

Guys,
Planning to buy a tab for my spouse.
Requirements:
1. 8 or 9 inches screen.
2. >5MP good quality camera (Mainly to capture our month old baby activities).
3. 16GB or > memory.
4. 1 or 2 GB RAM.
5. Should be usable as phone for calling.
6. Wifi, bluetooth connectivity.
7. 3G preferable, 2G also ok.

My budget is within 20K. Can i get a decent tab in this price point?
If yes, please help me in selecting one.

Thanks,
Ramki

My personal experience - taking pictures of babies requires a good camera - since they just refuse to stay still.

You will always see a shake on the hands or the legs, unless the baby is sleeping.

Get a DSLR.

If you can still get hold of it, i would suggest a bloggie for capturing baby activities. I have one from 2010, which I just unpacked, only 8 months ago. From spotting something worth a shot, to starting the shot takes about 3 seconds, and I can guarantee, and confirm by practice, nothing else comes close to helping you not miss capturing an HD video of the baby's activities.

This is the one I have.

It may be a bit hard to find, i think the current one is a touch device. You just turn the lens and press the video or still button.
Look for comparable devices on the many many ecomm sites.

It should be fine if its not installed on the windscreen and can provide a good passive or active cooling option along with an automatic shutdown during extreme temperatures. Moreover it should not be kept for charging while not in motion.
