The HCL tablet is more like 15/16K at Croma. Had played around with the piece - pathetic, to say the least. Wasn't able to shift the UI to landscape mode no matter what I tried. Build quality felt cheap and plasticky - worse than the experimental Chinese ones. I'd take an Olivepad any day over the HCL one at the same price - at least it feels well made.
Is there a Tablet available in India which runs on windows operating system and any launches in the recent future which will be able to replace a Netbook?. Please suggest.

Yeah today only I saw the same in G & G magazine and it looks quite exciting and feature rich. The biggest advantage is that it runs on Windows 7 home premium.
I also inquired with a couple of resellers who quoted the best price between 34-35k. Please let me know if there is any place where I can get it for around 27K.
Thanks.
I must give it to Apple that it has produced the best of the lot till date. To me iPad 2 is currently the champ.
I have few friends make mistake of buying cheaper Samsung/Olivepad etc. but once they worked on the pad they abhor their machines. I would sincerely want my fellow members to check out the test the tablets before plonking in their hard earned moolah.
what about the notion ink adam?
some words by users, if any are here.

I don't know the exact price of Iconia Tab. I remember 27K from the news item when it was launched.
The are 2 versions of Iconia Tab. Android and Windows. Android A500 is the cheaper one at 27K. W500 is still above 30K and according to reviews, windows doesn't live upto the expectations. Microsoft never designed Windows 7 for touch only devices. No wonder Acer is giving keyboard dock free with W500.
So what are the options?
1. Ipad2
2. Samsung 10.1
3. Motorola Xoom
Which of these will sync with my BlackBerry (email/contacts) and my laptop (documents), has Wifi and Bluetooth, and has a add on wireless keyboard/mouse?
Ive recently noticed a Viewsonic 10.1inch tablet listed on ebay for 15K ~ 19K.
Similar specs to the Acer ICONIA except that ram and storage is half that of the iconia.
Has anyone had any experience with the viewsonic devices. there was a whole range of viewsonic stuff listed on ebay.

Stay Away!!!
I had got a WiFi+3G model in Feb, endured torture for a month, and got rid of it by march.
Absolutely no support, not even the basic hardware finish or software finesse expected from a tablet. Home screen used to crash like every few minutes, got it fixed by trial and error, Notion Ink support never replied to mail.
Guys I might sound like apple fanboy but I am not.
However, I am here to convince that iPad 2 is the best tablet till date. Given all it's flaws and apple's strong hold on the microcosm I still believe it's VFM in longterm. If you so want the freedom then I recommend Motorola Xoom.
Cheers!

saw it listed on ebay for 25300 a few days back.
Look out for the Asus Transformer (TF101). The specs are comparable to Acer Iconia with Tegra2 Dual Core processor, 1280x800 IPS Panel and all the routine sensors.
The best thing of the lot, You can optionally purchase a Docking station ~ $150 which consists of a keyboard, touchpad, Card reader, 2 USB Ports and a battery extending the backup to 14Hrs.
There has been unconfirmed news that the Transformer has gone up to second place in monthly sales behind apple selling more than 400K units in just Apr & May.
Edit: Asus will be launching 16GB Transformer in India for Rs 32K along with the docking station. I also talked to a retailer and he promised to deliver 16GB Transformer without Docking station for ~25K.

One of my friends picked one up 2 weeks back. He got it from the US.
He is very happy with the performance. More so with the ext keyboard dock which lets you type in properly when you need to almost like a laptop.
