Samsung Galaxy S Duos S7562 problem:

A friend picked up a Galaxy duos recently. Using this with an Airtel connection. Problem is that, immediately after hanging up / disconnecting, the phone goes un-reachable for about 20-30 seconds.

1. If speaking on a call, and either party ends the call
2. If we call from another phone and disconnect before picking up the call on the Galaxy
3. Make a call from the Galaxy (connected or otherwise)

In all cases, when we call from another phone, the Galaxy is un-reachable. The Galaxy shows a message like " Emergency Call" at the bottom. So we cant make any calls either, immediately after a prev call.

The phone does not have much data on it. It has a 16gb Micro SDHC.

Any idea what is the problem ?

In the mobile networks option select only GSM mode. Probably this will solve the problem

Even if you can arrange for someone to bring it, the phone needs to be *in stock* first! It is disappearing faster than even Google could imagine!

And if you really want a worthy replacement to Defy, check out http://www.pantechusa.com/phones/burst

I saw it being available for around 8-10k on some sites. Totally worth the price for a 1.2 Ghz dual-core, 1 GB RAM, ICS, 4 inch Super AMOLED device.

Earlier I thought it was an app issue but when I changed a few themes I realized that the issue is only with the font colour.

I liked the HybridICS theme because it was dark throughout.

Can someone recommend some cool dark themes for WIUI GB ROM that have proper english language support (some themes were good but in emails " double quotes and other special characters would get translated into something chinese).

There is another "Dark" theme in it right? Try that one.

Or customize the HybridICS theme to use different fonts.

Its really very simple. I use the stock WIUI theme but I prefer the icons of miSense theme.

How is the network at home?
Try this, put it in airplane mode for tonight. The cell standby value should be at third or maximum second position, not at the top.
Or try and put the phone on GSM only.

Okay, So after charging completely yesterday, I did put it on Airplane mode. I lost about 28% still. And, I didn't touched the phone during all this time. Here's the stats :

Okay, I tried it on Airplane mode throughout the night and still lost 28% in sleep. I'll again change the sim today, after full charge and will post the stats tomorrow, Let me see, If there's any improvement or not.

Before a factory reset, I will go this way -

Install custom recovery, wipe dalvik and cache and reboot and check.

Then I'll start losing suspicious apps as well

What data?
If it's app based data, then root it.
If it's pictures and all, they won't go.

Better yet, get it over one of these days.

I don't know how to root

I guess, last option will be the wisest choice.

I have a Spice Android phone that i use mostly as a PMP( airplane mode, no calls).
The battery seems to discharge very quickly and charge quickly as well. So it seemed like a battery calibration issue. I tried to discharge the phone, but i couldn't go beyond 5 percent, when the phone shuts down automatically.
I also wiped the battery stats using CWM recovery. The Phone is running Android 2.2

My question is how to drain the battery completely? I am rooted, so any method would be possible

I face this problem randomly on my Tipo.
Sometimes even after connecting the earphones, music still continues to play through the loudspeaker.
I need to restart the phone with earphones plugged in and then it works. But in this case the mic, earpiece, loudspeaker don't work even after removing the earphones.

And if i restart without the earphones then everything else except the earphone jack works.
I think its some software bug.

I rooted my phone today itself and now I'm looking for a reliable rom which doesn't require an unlocked bootloader.

Thanks

Apparently its heading for an Indian launch on Jan 15 2013. Not sure how authentic it is.

And the phone is horrendously cheap there. Some 16k/299US for the 8 GB version. Priced very well. How do I cheat google and order the phone online to be shipped to someone I know?

Refer to this XDA Thread for ordering it in India. The rush should be over after Christmas. http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1978169

Great thread! Though if an Indian launch is around the corner, better sense tells me to wait it out.

Agree with you that the rush should be through after Xmas. Thanks mate!
