Any suggestions / review comments on this?

If none of these conditions are met, phone will be running at 1113 Mhz max and 245 minimum while display is on. CPU governor in that case will be OnDemand.
You could set it lower for screen off, at sleep mode. Charging could be around 800.
I set GS2 at 500 and lower for screen off and sleep mode, also lower the voltage a bit and it runs fine.
Have you changed the voltage too ?

It is a new feature in the latest update (HTC Desire; Google maps version 5.8.0);

When you long press some point on the map there is this option: 'pre-cache map area'.

That's pretty strange, I got the latest 2.3.4 android update on my phone and also google maps version 5.8.0 but when I long press on the map it loads the address for that location.

Yes, for me too (running 2.3.4 with GMaps 5.8) I don't see any option to download map area by selecting it. Only option is prefetch on mobile in cache settings. But You can see the maps for the areas already downloaded without having the need for a data connection.

Battery drain seems to have reduced, 8 hours of pretty good usage and now it is at 60%.

Yes, but after it loads the address you have to click on the address 'balloon' which brings these following options:
1)What's nearby
2)Search nearby
3)Share this place
4)Pre-cache map area - This is the one you need!

Any Thoughts on this.., Need inputs. Thanks.

This goes out to all users of this device? Responses would be appreciated very much.
I received this phone yesterday via Letsbuy.

Total cost was Rs. 19,120 (with coupon) and to my surprise the phone came with Gingerbread 2.3.3 . (even though the box mentions the OS as Froyo 2.2)

Regarding GPS, i have tried it a couple of times, once it locked even inside the room within 20 seconds, and once outside, it locked within 5-10 seconds max. So i guess the GPS issue plaguing the Galaxy series is somewhat sorted with this phone / or the Gingerbread update.

I must say playing Angry birds in this phone after playing the same in Galaxy 3 and even iPhone 2G is a revelation. The game just seems to be tailor made for this device. No lag, awesome graphics, and very smooth gameplay.

Very very impressed so far with this device, at the price at which its selling right now.

And to all those who are receiving the phone with seal broken. RETURN it to Letsbuy immediately. Seal broken means that Courier boy delivered it to wrong address, the folks at the wrong address used the phone, courier realised the mistake and took away the phone from the wrong address and redelivered it to you.

I received my phone with seals intact.

Getting gps lock without a (partial) sky view is nearly impossible.. wonder how you could manage that!

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

Just gifted my wife a Samsung Galaxy S II...Though i am the one who is glued to it all day. This is a superb phone with 8 MP, sparkling AMOLED screen, all apps including FB, skype, Maps, Angry birds (!!) Gmail, GPS, i mean everything works like a breeze. 2 GB RAM and 16/32 GB memory is comparable to PCs some years back.

Movie and photo quality is awesome. the phone doesnt hang irrespective of the number of apps open. im loving it.

Congrats SX4LOVER, after using a Galaxy S, i can imagine what great phone the S2 would be ! The best part of S2 is that despite being so feature rich, it weighs so less. And if sAMOLED of SGS is great, sAMOLED Plus would be awesome

Which build is the SGS2 running on - 2.3.3 or 2.3.4 ?
