re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

Apparently Incredible 2 (CDMA + GSM) has not been successfully rooted so far!

I am sure it is only a matter of time....

re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

I see most people just go in for rooting due to their inability to Screen Capture.
You can follow this simple procedure here to screen capture on unrooted phones - [How To] Unrooted Screenshots with Android SDK to take screenshots.

In a nutshell the above requires you to-
1. Download Android SDK (Software Developement Kit) - Android SDK | Android Developers
2. Enable USB Debugging on phone and connect to pc
3. Locate where you unzipped the Android SDK> Open the tools folder and double click on ddms.bat
4. The Dalvik Debug Monitor will open Make sure you device is listed in the upper left hand side of the window
5. To take a Screenshot, select Device> Screen Capture
6.The Device Screen Capture window will open
- Click Refresh to capture a current screenshot
- Save your screenshot to your PC
- After you are done with all the screen shots you can click Done

This is the catch - you can capture to the PC only!

Heads up - Motorola defy for 13.8 K on letsbuy. Brand new with b & w.

Substantial price drop in a short time. Is a newer version in the pipeline?

re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

I noticed the Nexus S dropped from ~26k to 19.9k in the last few weeks too!

A few weeks back it was priced higher than the Galaxy S (22k) by a few grand, now its about 2k less... I wonder if the lack of that microSD card is hurting it a little?

Exactly! You can capture the screenshot in the phone itself with root permissions. But as Klub Class found out with his phone, there are some models out there which will allow screen capture without root.

I would be very much happy if someone recommend me some stable custom ROMs for my LG Optimus One P500.

Looking forward for your inputs.

With the Defy available at that price, the Wildfire S looks even more overpriced (it already was). Wonder when they will drop prices.

My Desire is now boot-looping on me after a reboot. I think it could be because of some app+data restore from Titanium backup gone wrong. I had also installed Adfree which edits the hosts file. That app suggested a reboot - so on the next reboot, it started looping. :(

re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

Hey guys finally bought my dream phone - Samsung GALAXY S2.

Its such a brilliant screen. just out of this world. Coming from Nokia 6500 slide I am kind of struggling to find my way through the phone right now LOL. But I guess will get used to it in sometime.

BTW I got it for 29,900.

re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

Just pointing out.

it is recommended NOT to restore applications+data from a 2.2 android titanium backup to 2.3/cm7

Known to cause bootloops/random FC's

re install instead of restoring

Guys,

You gave me a logic on the Indiaplaza purchase method for SGS2 in 27290. I want to buy the iPad2 that ways. Can you guys guide me?

Apple Ipad 2 Wifi 16GB Buy Now | Buy Ipads | Indiaplaza looks nice

By your logic - I would be able to buy it in 27k, right?
Can't see theprocess clearly on the website.

Any other deals on iPad you guys know?

Congratulations drmohitg

I got a chance to hold and test Galaxy S2, it feels superb and very light weight. I am sure coming from Nokia 6500 it must be super light for you. Enjoy with your S2.
