you really cant be serious in comparing (chinese) spice to this beauty; This is the world's first qHD 3D phone and its already shaken up the US market. This is 3D but "without" the glasses; thats the whole beauty of it.

Yes, absolutely serious.

I had two perspectives:
a. Spice introduced it as 3D without glasses only. So yes, it may not be qHD but it was still pathbreaking for India, in a way.
b. I had initially written it off as a flagship launch just for kicks - much like Micromax - who launch multiple devices only to get the buzz up for their IPO.

Of course, coming from HTC - this would surely be a well finished product with an awesome implementation that blows our collective pants off

Why should that happen so soon. S2 is already priced below the iPhone 4, and it beats the iPhone 4 hollow. iPhone 5 when it comes, I am certain, will be priced much higher than this. So, what's the motivation for Samsung to drop it's prices significantly. Maybe a settling down price of around 27-28K can be expected, but why go any further below than that?

well, thats from my past experience. In today's digital age and world, things gets obsolete with the blink of the eye; what you presume to beat others hollow, wont last on the king's throne for long; 2 months is a long time in digital nirvana; that's how the story goes...

Samsung Delivers Galaxy S II to CyanogenMod Dev, Says Get to Work

I dont think S2 will drop prices so fast so much. Just see the last year. Till the world mobile congress this year january samsung galaxy S outsmarted all the other smartphones. With the S2 I am guessing the same thing to happen again. After the initial hoopla dies down it will stabilize at around 28k mostly. So getting it now for 30k is not a bad idea for the sake of exclusivity.

I remember last year till december the galaxy S was selling for 28k ( the launch price was similar to galaxy S2).

So all said and done, people please post the lowest price that you might have come across in the NCR region. I called my local dealer yesterday and he said he will get the stock today and it will be within 30k.

IIRC, this is for 2.2.2. But I had got this update about a month back.
No noticeable changes that I can recollect.
Can you confirm if you are on 2.2.1?
