Re: Android applications

For those of you who have Google Analytics accounts, this is a really sweet app.

- Shows a LOT of metrics (visits, top referrers, by country, search engine referrals, pageviews, top keywords, browsers etc)
- Shows virtually real-time data (the GA web version is delayed by ~24hrs)
- Can group data by date (typical), day (m,t,w,t..), week, month, hour (4pm, 5pm) etc
- Has graphs of data
- Can also show Google App developers the stats about their published apps

Re: Android applications

Tried a new game today, a kind of a stress buster. Found it to be a good stress buster, especially when bored to death due to sudden spurt of work load.

Free Running (https://market.android.com/details?i...op.freerunning)

The screen is the same resolution as more expensive androids like the Glaxy S or the HTC desire.and this is a boon while web browsing.

The camera is strictly average though.not comparable to the nokias in its price range

Check it out and compare it to the other androids in your budget.it now ships with 2.2,its the screen that makes it extremely VFM

And the developer support (modaco forums) for this phone is huge, its also officially supported under CM7 so that you'll always get new versions
after overall study i am towards a conclusion that DELL XCD35 is a good phone with very good screen resolution.

However this will become a primary phone for me.

I am planning to take it to germany too.

How does GPS work on it. does it require network or it locks the satellites without sim connection in it.

i read the specs as : GPS, With A GPS.

will the battery life increase with the 2.2 upgrade?

The Dell xcd35 comes with MMI maps preloaded,so atleast in india you wont need a data connection,it'll navigate using a pure GPS signal

And Android phones need background data for a pure android experience,so get a data connection anyway, the 2gb for 99 bucks lasts for a month

In germany the navigation will be through google maps, unless you find a suitable offline alternative,it'll will require a data connection

Though the phone is extremely capable (read reviews about the orange san fransisco, same phone rebranded) the camera is extremely below par.(though there is an app called "lg camera" in the market which gives fantastic results) but then again i haven't had a chance to check out the camera's of phones in that price range,so you'll have to compare yourself

Yes battery life increases with the 2.2 upgrade.the phone ships with 2.2 but if you happen to get a 2.1 phone the dell service center will upgrade it for free

Did you not do a titanium backup? You can just restore from that, no?

I do have a titanium back up. Will try to do a restore and update. I was wondering whether it would be compatible with GB.

Edit: I tried a restore of Contact.. doesn't seem to change anything. Not sure what's name of that apk.

Just make sure you restore the right app. It can be quite painful if you restore some system app which conflicts with Cm7. like custom recovery for instance

Yes, read some post on XDA. Seems to be a tricky thing. Tried Dialer one from market , didn't like it. Need to do some research for a better app in case I am not able to restore the old one. Tried restoring Swype from the backup, it didn't work.

Try roadsync (note - it is an paid application, free for a month or so). Works perfectly with microsoft exchange.
