Ah yes, somehow each time I pick up any of the iPhones at home can't help but compare just how fluid the thing is compared to android. Even 2 year old iPhones feel waay faster than my Note 8 with animations set to 0.5x.

In the droid world only the Oneplus and Pixel devices are comparable but nowhere close.

Goodluck with your upgrade!

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

Got the delivery of my Redmi K20 Pro from the Flipkart Sale - 6GB/128GB model. Build Quality is excellent and so is the hardware. I think Redmi has heard all the feedback about Poco F1 and incorporated it in terms of the fit/finish. This is my first ever Xiaomi/Redmi Phone but I am happy with the overall quality levels. Extreme Value for money at 23K. The design of the face unlock however seems to a bummer as they expect you to swipe and then the Pop Up Camera goes up.

Ordered on 01 October and was delivered on 03 October. I think the waiting times went up later as my Colleague ordered the same phone on 03 October and for him it shows a Delivery Date of 10 October.

On the Camera front, the Portraits on the Rear Camera are excellent and so are shots taken under good lightning conditions. For the Night Shots, I have installed the Google Camera Mod and it works like a charm with Night Sight.

As for MI UI, I don't have a problem as I was on Huawei EMUI all these days and adapt easily to these skins. This one comes with the Poco Launcher. Hearing that Android 10 Update will hit the phone this month in India as well...

And I must add the Android experience of moving from one phone to another has been made extremely good. I got the option to Restore from previous phone and selected specific apps and it moved everything very well. I had the Huawei Health App which I was worried about but it got moved with all the Activity data that included Heart Rate/Sleep Tracking/Exercise in place.

I ordered the K20 on Thursday when it showed the delivery date as 15th Oct. I was okay with it. But it is showing, it has reached hub in Pune and might get delivered today. Problem is, I ordered at office address and today is off.

Regarding Mi UI, if you like to fiddle with OS, you can debloat it using ADB. There are guides on XDA forum. On my current MI UI, I have only required apps, rest MI apps as well as some of the Google bloatware too is removed.

I received the Samsung M30s today and to my surprise the phone was switched on and in initialization mode when I opened the box. It had about 67% charge left. I thought this was weird though.

Nothing weird. This phone is the battery champ, is my first impression for now.

Received the phone yesterday morning. Had about 65% battery like yours. Charged till 100% and removed it around 2pm.

Both of us checked out the phone, kept it idle overnight, I watched a few YouTube videos today morning, and just finished watching a full movie (KGF on Amazon Prime video) with Dolby Atmos sound turned on.

To my shock - battery is still at 76% They're not kidding with the 6000mAH thing!

Looks like a phone that genuinely doesn't need to be charged every day. I might in fact steal this phone from wife and give her my LG G6 in return.

Nothing weird mate. There is a reason for it. With most companies now providing monthly security patches there is a very good chance that a new phone may need an update as soon as its switched on. In case the battery is low the phone my get switched off and the update process may stop in between causing issues. Not everyone remembers to plug in the phone immediately.

I think the weird bit is finding his phone powered on when he unboxed it, not that it had a certain level of charge from the factory (like most devices).

Aah! Missed that part. I thought the question was about certain amount of charge on the mobile. Didn't read through properly. My bad.

I'd say the Honor and Huawei phones are awesome too - though I cannot compare them to Apple.

If you guys are interested in Apple, there is the Apple thread - https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/gadge...ne-thread.html (The iPhone Thread)

Enjoy.

I wasn't too chuffed with the OnePlus 7t. The t's are supposed to be an upgrade, this is almost like a downgrade? With my OP3t at my last legs, was looking at it, disappointed. The Pro's are crazy expensive, though they are still the best overall Android out there.

Care to elaborate a bit? I liked what I saw during a recent demo, but I really have no benchmark as I haven't been in the market for a while, insight helps.

As a standalone device, it is good - however when you compare it to the Pro it falls flat, there is literally nothing that has been improved with the screen becoming flat instead of a curved one, the front cam back to what the usual thing these days. You should not bring out a new phone just for the heck of it. This feels like that. If I have to choose the best phone in the OP stable, it will be the 7 pro and not the 7t (the way it normally is).

If you are just looking at performance, even the OP3 & 3t would still perform well. Although OP screwed up big time with the Android 9 update to them, they still work very well. Just 'feels' dated. I mean my wife uses an iphone 8 and I still like my 3t as it is far more responsive.

How your LG G6 battery holding? I want to gift my wife LG G7 which is retailing at around 23k on Amazon. She is homwmaker and do not like large phones. G7 shall be perfect size. Cureently using Sony Z5. Its battery is to be charged at least twice in a day since it is 3 year old. I do not want Chinese like oppo, vivo etc. A kind of flagship I am preferring. Since she is mostly at home, charger is always handy. She do not want any costly phone also. I am lucky no! Also software update is no worry. Also LG is light weight.
What is the opinion here.

Anyone who's spent sometime here knows of the Apple thread, thanks for the link though

I get to use both OS's often so comparisons are but inevitable. I'm very happy with my Note though. Huawei somehow always gets overshadowed by the Samsungs and Pixels though the design and cameras seem on/above par.

Isn't 7t an upgrade from 7 and not from 7 Pro ? Even the pricing is lower than 7 Pro. There is an upcoming 7t Pro which would be an upgrade to 7 Pro.
