@adimicra; I would have waited for the 5G version, which is coming next year. Were you in a hurry. In any case welcome to the Samsung club.

Its a real nuisance. After every call we need to cancel this message to proceed.

The message header comes as 'Class 0 message'. It was never there before. I have been seeing this from past couple of weeks. This may NOT be a phone(Asus Max Pro) issue.

I am facing the same problem is both mine and wife's numbers, so it is not a phone specific issue. I searched Google and tried almost all suggestions but nine worked. And it's next to impossible to be able to connect to a airtel customer care executive specially if you are a prepaid customer.

Add me to the list, please!

This has started recently. Surely a carrier issue; Airtel in this case.

After passing through labyrinthine options, one does get connected to the CC (customer cheating) executive: but all they are capable of is spinning yarns and obfuscation. I reached one a few days ago regarding 4G network issues in my area. After about ten minutes of see saw, I very politely asked him to teach me the art of speaking a lot without saying anything - something that he had first class mastery in .

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

Have you tried removing/unchecking the "push" message notifications in Message settings?
Maybe that will stop the Class 0 texts from popping up.

Other option to try out - when you get the Class 0 message next time, simply save it (instead of deleting) and then go to the Message folder, followed by blocking the "sender".

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

Got a S10+ here in US, absolutely loving it so far.
Though for camera, I still have mixed opinion about overprocessing in certain situations. I think this should improve as time goes by, and some more software updates.

Finger print works like a charm.

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

I have a Samsung Note 8 updated to Android 9 with the One UI.

In the Samsung dialer app (native) there is an option to record all calls which I have selected, however, it does not work as intended. It records calls at random, not all of them.

Is anybody facing a similar issue? Is there a solution/work around?

"Call Recorder" from the Playstore does not work after this update.

Appreciate your inputs.

Thanks in advance.

Cheers

Been there and done that, BUT for no avail. It's relentless for all outgoing calls.
One of these days, will walk into an Airtel shop and ask for a fix.

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

I will most probably be replacing my S8 with a S10 (5G) next year. I am definitely not buying an Asian phone.

One other reason I think 'official' upgrades may cease next year.

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

Bought Samsung A50.
64gb space/6b ram variant. Blue color.
Cost-22990
Pros-
Super amoled display is amazing, probably the best I have ever used.
Fast processor
Fast Face recognition.
Looks more like a flagship than a mid ranger.
Camera quality is quite good in good lighting conditions. Same with Selfie camera.
Battery- 4000mah. Lasts easily a day.
No heating.
Don't play games on phone so no idea about performance in that.
Quite light weight and feels very good to hold. Inspite of its 6.4 inch size it feels compact and easy to use with one hand.

Cons-
In display fingerprint scanner is the new tech but as it's an optical one it's a second slower than the one in S10 series.
Camera needs improvement in low light conditions.

Overall I am quite pleased with this phone. My previous was Redmi note 5 pro and this feels quite a step up.

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

Isn't the S10 series sold here coming with the exynos chips? The ones sold stateside come with the 855 Snap Dragon.

This is annoying, the Gcam port is only possible with the Snap Dragon chip. And the Pixel cam is way better than what you get on the S10.

I thought the S10e might be it, but this exynos chip set up is frustrating.

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

Hello!

Requesting your kind opinion on finalizing either the MI Note 7 Pro or the Samsung M30.

Will be used by my dad, whose primary usage is WhatsApp, You Tube, Camera, casual browsing, a couple of calls during the day.

Camera would be used extensively when they stay with us, lets say - a quarter of 12 months.

My confusion with M30 is the video resolution , i.e. 1080 @ 30 fps.

Isn't this non-standard? I believe the standard is 4k @ 30 fps, 1080p @ 30/60 fps and slow-motion @120 fps? Am I missing something that Samsung is not, from a phone that is said to be targeted at the millennials (ya, I know my dad isn't one, but just asking)?

I won't go into the 48 MP of the Note 7 Pro, but the low light photography looks amazing on this phone from the reviews seen so far.

I agree that Samsung has got the 5000 mAh battery, however, the Note 7 Pro has a 4000 mAh battery, which is not a deal breaker if that was the sole point of contention.

I also agree that the Super AMOLED from Samsung has virtually no competition in this segment.

A colleague has the Note 7 Pro, and sound output when compared with my One Plus 3T is same. I bring this point up because the M30's speaker output isn't too impressive (again, read online).

Note 7 Pro has the Qualcomm 675 processor (2.0 GHz), the M30 has Exynos 7904 (1.8 GHz). I haven't researched much on the difference between these 2, but no one is gonna play games, that is for sure, so MALI or Adreno isn't a deal breaker either.

None of them are supplying headphones!

Note 7 Pro does feel heavier (felt it), weighs 186 gms. (officially). The Samsung weighs 172 gms. Will the additional 14 gms. in the hands of a 67 yr. old make a difference, daily & in the long run, if the phone is used for an average of 4 hrs. a day?

Both phones cost the same for 6 GB - 128 GB version. Don't want to extend the budget beyond this.

Samsung sale is tomorrow. MI sale, the day after.

Your suggestions are highly appreciated. Thank you.

P.S. Bought my mom the MI A2 during Diwali (4 GB - 64 GB), and she is absolutely loving it. Camera is good too, takes better pics that stock One Plus 3T in many scenarios. Was also evaluating to buy my dad the same, but the 6 GB - 128 GB version. Prices have reduced since Diwali. Note 7 Pro does have bloatware, the MI A2 doesn't.

I request you to consider the SAR value of both the phones, I am not able to find it for the Note 7 Pro. AFAIK Redmi phones generally have very high SAR value.

Thanks for the input.

I haven't read about MI phones, will explore it now that you say - but have surely come across literature that puts Samsung amongst the lower to mid range, as far as SAR is concerned.

In case of the Samsung M30, I believe it's 0.409 W/kg
