Curious, why do you say so, theres linkies like:
The LG Optimus One P500 Blog: Rooting LG Optimus One P500
ROOTing A LG Optimus One Android Phone | World Of Nubcraft

and many more.

The locked up phone is motorola defy. no one's cracked its bootloader yet IIRC.

@NC: WHY? Just go over - they do it free. mere dost ka bricked phone ok kar diya free mai!

The froyo update is around the corner, I am fine with that.

Actually, after hearing the good reviews and looking at the specs sheet again, I had a second thought. Americans are usually paranoid when they set safe limits. If 1.6W/kg is their max limit for SAR, then it will be plenty safe. Besides, I rarely use my phone for longer than 20 minutes of talking everyday.

Since I came to Bangalore yesterday, I decided to have a look it at Royal Meenakshi mall. The Sangeeta store only had closed box, no demo model. Yet the salesman wanted me to buy it so that he can open and show the phone. Where do they teach such sales techniques I wonder.

Then I went to Croma.

My conversation with the salesman went like this:

Me: Hi, do you have Motorola Defy?
He: Hmm, No. Never heard of that model.
Me: Oh..
He: Wait, do you mean Difi? [he said it as Dee Fee]
Me: Huh?

Then he shows me Motorola Defy working model which was right in front of me. I mean, Defy is a plain English word, obviously chosen because this is a rugged phone that can defy most environmental hazards. So, who taught these guys to pronounce it as DeeFee or Difi?

The screen is just delicious, and the phone is very very handy. It very slightly bigger than my HTC Touch2, yet has 5 times more resolution. It is very classy too.

I loved the phone, and bought it for 18990.

He: Sir, do you need the additional scratch guard film?
Me: [stunned] Why? doesn't this have gorilla glass? How can a plastic film be more helpful than Gorilla glass?
He: [with sheepish smile] But most people don't know anything about Gorilla glass, so they still buy the plastic film to protect Gorilla glass.

Gizmodo, the Gadget Guide

Anyway, so I got this baby home. Won't be opening it until I am back in Manipal. Apparently it has to be charged for 14 hours before first use.

Samurai San,

I had posted a few pages back that its available for 15808. Why o why did you buy at 19k? NAHINNNNN!!!

PS: Read its review well. There's one earpiece or battery wala rubber gasket which needs to be seated properly before you take it into the wet!!
PPS: As far as the safety limit is concerned, I always follow the Europeans - they are MORE paranoid than the Americans
PPPS: Now that you have, A VERY BIG CONGRATS! Kindly do run quadrant (check in android market) and tell us the benchmark numbers
PPPPS: Froyo preloaded I presume? A lil birdie told me so.

Well, motorolas is not available in my town. I am visiting Bangalore for a day, I had to pick it up now. Also, everything in Karnataka is expensive. From road tax to petrol price. We pay 64.xx for a liter of petrol.

Yet to insert the SIM. So, I don't know. I heard the ear piece bug was fixed back in Jan.

bhai OHCVtec, You order today - ask for cash on delivery. I've been told Letsbuy takes a while to ship. 25th is monday - anyways between now and 25th morning, there is no processing happening, except you'd be a bit ahead in the queue when they open for business on monday

oss bhai - Motorola Defy Officially Receives Android 2.2 Froyo I was told by an ex-motorola marketing fellow that motorola india has run out of Defy because the demand far outstripped the supply. Hence, they were importing new stuff earlier in the month and it *may* be having the Froyo. But ofc, he's no longer in the company so could poss be wrong!!

sgiitk saab - that forum has no action - not even in the zipcode of xda-develoeprs. In an year+, the android forum has 19 topics & 42 replies? TBHP does that in 1.9 min

Samurai san, Come on. Unbox it - show it off. 14 hours is 13:59:59 hours too many!

With regards to Profile, I don't think there is any native app for it. Its either Vibration or Ringtone for me on Galaxy S. But there are lots of apps which will let you do it.

Since its an Android based phone, I would assume it comes with Google Maps. Google maps works pretty well and if its not there you could download it from the Android Market for free.
