I agree that having an n-1(n=current) model is an excellent idea, almost the same specs at a far lower price. Only disadvantage is that the software updates stop a year or two earlier. But then there are many sites which give the updates.

So true. One of my friends is running Android Oreo 8.1 on his Oneplus 1, which is a five year old phone.

Somehow I am not into rooting and flashing custom ROMs. I tried it once on my Xperia some four years ago and bricked it. Since then, have learnt to be happy with what is available. :)

On a sidenote, ordered the LG G7+ ThinQ yesterday night for an effective ownership price of Rs.0 for 8 months. So will upgrade again in the next big sale. lol:

Thanks, this was the only possible solution all over the web and eventually purchased the app and got done with it.

Although it required some effort but got it done.

Thanks again !

3 apps were used.

Itunes
Ibackupviewer
Wazzup Migrator

Only the wazzap migrator costed 490/-
Ibackupviewer is good enough with the lite version (other alternatives to this are iphonebackupextractor and iphonebackupbrowser but these apps wont migrate all the old stored media files as the lite version is limited to 4 files ony)

I am looking to replace my Moto G4 Plus this festive season. Budget is around 15,000.

Priorities are a good camera, decent/good performance, and reliability.

Options I've seen so far:
Mi Max 2
Mi A2
Nokia 6.1
Moto G6
Motorola X4 XT1900-2
Vivo Y83 Pro
Redmi 6 Pro

Anything else I need to look at?

Looking for something with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage (preferred).

EDIT: A good battery backup also required.

Thanks.

I've not been impressed with recent editions of the Moto G series, for the value-for-money proposition. Ditto for Samsung in this price bracket.

The Nokia is definitely a compelling option (and would be my pick), and if you're comfortable with Xiaomi's models, they offer great VFM.

If you can stretch a bit then the Poco f1 is a compelling choice!

If you prefer stock android then Mi A2 is a good option else go for Poco F1 at a slightly higher price

Current crop of moto phones is over priced.

Same here! Ordered the Graphite Black Poco F1 6GB/64GB thru FlipKart. Effective price after exchange of an old Redmi Note 3 worked out to 16,000/- which is very good VFM considering the specs and the phone that was lying unused for over a year now! Expected on 14-Oct.

You missed Motorola One. It's Android One, SD 636 phone with 5000 mAH battery with turbo charging.
Best all round phone in the mid range, only if you decide to ignore Poco F1.

The Mi A2 would be perfect for you if you can live with the two major negatives it comes with - no memory card support and no headphone jack.

Absence of 3.5mm Headphone jack would be BIG negative. They should have brought 'lite' version to India, which overcomes this deficiency.

Redmi Note 5 Pro will be perfect for you. Been using since few months and it's an excellent phone. Do check it as it's got good discount also right now.
