I am thinking on the same lines of getting an honor10. I am little bit skeptical of the EMUI or whatever skin of android it is. My current phone is Mi A1 and looking to replace it. Pixel 2 is ruled out as my budget is 30k. Any other suggestions?

Only if Honor 10 was water resistant, that would have made a good phone.

I'm not sure if P20 pro camera is that good to command 65k price. It came last in a phonearena blind test when faced against ipx, s9+ and pixel xl2. I'd rather buy s9+ for this price.

But the question was between P20 Pro and OP6. OP6 has the same camera as the Oppo R15 Pro.

DXOMark has rated P20 Pro the highest yet. Now, I don't consider DXOMark scores to be the last word. Nor are these blind tests. People have a tendency to pick bright, over-saturated, over-sharpened photos over those with accurate colors and good dynamic range.

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

Great schemes going on pre-launch of Honor 10 6GB/128GB for today at Flipkart. MRP 35999/-, picked it up for 24299/- (Phantom Blue) in exchange of an old Redmi 3S for my son with Axis Bank 10% discount and extra 5000 discount on exchange, launching on 23rd May and delivery by 25th May. When compared with the 39,999/- price tag for the 128GB One Plus 6, this looks like a better deal with a slightly better camera. Thought the O+6 trumps on the screen part, just doesn't make sense to pay 15000 extra, when the overall value it offers is considered.

Among the two of OP6 and P20 pro, I would definitely buy the OP6. P20pro camera might be better than OP6 (we dont really know yet) but it for sure isint that better to command a 30k rupee price differential. Add to that Huawei's ugly software compared to cleaner, meaner OP6, its a no-brainer for me.

For 65k, I'd rather buy the Samsung S9+ or the Pixel2 XL.

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

P20 camera is vastly superior to the OP6 for sure.

My U11 was clearly superior indoors (think dimly lit restaurant) over the 5T and the P20P photos are simply another level.

In my Moto X4, since past few days I am not seeing the notifications when the screen is off. Checked in the settings, and everything looks fine.

Have folks here been able to make their Honor phones with android auto? I have seen many struggle and even online forums are replete with questions on how to make them work

Still no joy with Oreo update on my Samsung S8, even though it was one of the very early ones.

Nice video comparing the size and the specs of Honor 10 vs Oneplus 6 -

Do keep in mind that the Antutu benchmark scores compared in the video are for the 4 GB version of the Honor 10 whereas we are gonna get the 6 GB version here in India. So is the OnePlus 6 worth the extra 15k?

Cheers...

Water resistance is the only saving grace for me as far as OP6 goes, else, the 10 appears a winner given the price difference.

Thanks I don't think I am going to spend a lot on mobiles now, so I might probably go for the Honor or maybe OP6, but for sure between these two. Waiting for a gent to pick my iPhone 7 which should happen in another 2 weeks.

EDIT: In the video description it is stated to not put it in water and to tear it down, now, what is that..?

I am no expert either, but what I could infer is that the electronic insulation and electronic build quality on either of these new cost effective flagships are great to handle everyday scenarios. Only thing is to dry them up thoroughly if dunked in water, either in the sun or otherwise. They do not go for IP ratings to keep the cost down as with the topmost brands. Both these phones DON'T have any IP rating.

Cheers...
