Samsung S8 still does not have the Oreo update. When can we expect it. Or is it now with the S9 they are forgetting the S8.

Samsung always are very late to update their flagships and always get only one major version change. As far as S8 goes, they had updated one batch to Oreo in Jan-Feb this year. But they encountered some glitch (phones started to reboot automatically IIRC). So they temporarily stopped the update. They plan to send out the updates together for S8 and Note8 (which I'm waiting for) in the next 3 weeks.

Hello Experts,

Can I flash ROM of one device on to another one.
Ex: ROM from Samsung on to some Micromax phone. Or one model of Micromax to some other model of Micromax.

Apologies, stupid:

Well, one very general rule of thumb would be, if you don't know what you are doing then better don't do it.

A more specific answer to your question would be, please don't try anything like that. You would most likely brick your device.

Dear All,
Recently got ONE PLUS 5T 6GB+64GB variant earlier this month on 6th via Amazon. Please note that my earlier phone was REDMI NOTE 3 and before that I was using ASUS ZENFONE 2 4GB+64GB version. I Got the Asus in Mid-2015. It is running very well right now and wife is using it.

Hi sgiitk, I got the update on 3rd March itself and updated the same. I bought the phone from Delhi itself.

I am surprised you have not got an update still. Most of my friends who bought the s8 in May last year got the update as well. Attaching a screenshot of the same.

Thanks, it may not be that long. I guess they release area by area. My S8 was one of first in India.

Talking about my case, the internals are pretty much the same as what I bought the phone with. No changes there. But now, I have 10 extra default Mi apps that were pushed as part of some update or the other. And I don't like that one bit. There is no option to uninstall these apps. Precisely the reason I am now rooted and going AOSP.

I, for one, feel like Xiaomi is the one that is pushing the updates just for updates sake.

Good riddance MIUI! Flashed a AOSP 8.1 ROM and am happy to see all the bloat disappear. The clean UI is a pleasant change. On first boot, it detected my sdcard and asked if I want to use it as internal memory(?). Since this would mean formatting the card (so the popup said), I skipped it for now.

Another pleasant surprise turned out to be the camera is now recording 4k videos. Needs to be verified in detail further though. That said, any idea where is the option to set the default save location? Can't I change it to the sdcard? Don't see such an option in the (Google) camera settings.

Dunno about S8 but my Sony Xperia XA1 Plus got the update two on 28th March. Was 964mb and has made the phone zippier and also fixed a few minor bugs.

Moto X-Play battery triggering a shutdown at around 20% after a couple of years seems to be a thing. :Frustrati

Just a quick update on my HTC U11. The bad news? My device seems to have had the ghost touch issue. No problem for touch typists but swipe fast on the keyboard and it goes haywire :|

That aside, the camera remains owner's pride, neighbor's envy. Here's a shot tonight from a cousin's marriage. It left other phones scurrying for cover.

Hey guys what can be a good upgrade from LG v20? My budget is under 50k. I'm a bit skeptical about the v30 because of the image retention issues on my v20.

My galaxy note 8 received the Oreo update last Monday. Still initial days, animations have become super fast.
I don't like the adaptive icons, any suggestions from fellow users of S8/S9/Note8 ?

I am using Nova Launcher pro , and adaptive icons are default enabled and cannot be switched off.

Does anyone know how to recover Deleted messages from Android ? I forgot to backup and deleted some important messages. Any help on this will be appreciated! Thanks in advance
