The way Samsung and HTC are coming out with new phones every other week, anything is possible. I would so love to see these manufacturers stick to one model and provide firmware upgrades when available rather than pushing out new phones so frequently.

Fixed the issue. The default setting for APN provided by the Vodofone was "vodafone Live" but it should be "vmc". "vmc" does not require any thing. All other setting is blank(proxy/user/pass/port.

The phone setting was Ok, the problem was with the Vodafone... Now every thing is working fine

Samsung had announced the Galaxy S2 at MWC in February, but it will be probably launched in June alongwith the new Galaxy Tab.

Edit: Just found out that it is going to be launched on April 12 in the UK. Not sure how reliable the news is though.

re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

Got my Samsung Galaxy 551 yesterday. The best description I can give is that it is the result of a one night stand between the Galaxy 3 and the Sprint/Samsung Epic 4G. Looks pretty good.. I go miss the speed of the Epic 4G though (still under repairs). Lovely ear speaker. Knocks my N6275 for a six.

I have a HTC Incredible S and I must say that it stands by its name. Easily lasts 2 days with normal usage. Great screen and ofcourse the HTC Sense UI rocks. Let me know if I can be of any help.

re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

Bought the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc yesterday.
The first impression is; pretty sleek, large display and extremely light weight.
Power it on and you will be impressed with the display powered by Bravia Engine.
Once you start tapping, you will be impressed with the GUI response and the processing power.

My 2G GPRS works much faster on this one compared to my old Nokia E71.

Voice quality is excellent with noise reduction in place.

Only drawback I could think of right now is the flimsy feel once you have in in your hand.

Having fun time installing all the Android apps now. Already installed Touchdown, a great piece of software.

re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

Just bought an Experia mini (arguably the smallest Android) for wifey and she loves it. Excellent SE UI for such a restricted real estate. The speed is good and it lives for 2-3 days with little usage. It comes with three funcky colored abcks to add to the style. Easy upgrade to Android 2.1 (or is it 2.2?) through the SE PC companion.

How the battery life ? The only problem so far with HTC is the battery. My sister has a Desire and not an extensive user at all. But still she has to charge her phone atleast twice a day.

Also from what i have read the phone does have a front camera but does not support video calling. Is that true ?

How is this in compared to the Neo ? They both seem to have the same specs, just the design is different.

BTW guys can you share the prices you paid for your phones ?

Guys, can anyone confirm the launch date for Samsung Galaxy Gio S5660? I have to decide between this and Galaxy Fit. The requirement is urgent.

That would be the next best thing to happen after T-BHP website! After I got my android, I stopped logging on to my laptop at home as I check all my work and non work emails on the phone. As a result, my post work hours T-BHP visit has come down drastically. This would put be back on track. Can't wait for it and Thanks in Advance.

I got Incredible S for 27k. I have 2 exchange sync accounts and 1 Gmail account with Facebook, Gtalk always on. Bluetooth operation for 1 hour and fiddling with gallery and taking 1-2 snaps a day. Not to forget the calls - quite a number of them. After this I easily manage 2 days. Display is brilliant. The phone feels rock solid. The new feature of fast boot in HTC just amazes me - similar to hibernation. Havent seen a single crash as of now. Been 3 weeks now with it. Let me know your queries and I would be glad to be of help.

BTW - Cam rocks - 8mp pure bliss.
