Does anybody know of any websites where i can sell my old mobiles? I don't want to put it on OLX or Quickr. Would much rather prefer somebody get it off my hands and put it up there. I vaguely remember reading about it in this thread but can't seem to find any. |
My brother tried reglobe or done such website, they wanted the charger and the original box too, without which they gave a rediculously low quote.
Flipkart exchange fellows didn't ask or even check anything. The guy only saw if the phone was in working condition, no questions asked.
Ofcourse, they both wanted a copy of original bill.

So would anyone here know if its a decent product for the price ? stupid: Edit : Is Redmi Note4 better ? More than willing to buy something better even if the price is slightly higher & product is worth. |
Guys, need feedback on this ^ please:

If camera is your priority then you can go with Honor 6X as the camera is its USP and it does seem great from reviews. Redmi Note 4 has improved the camera from its predecessor, but it doesn't seem to be as good as Honor 6X or Moto G4+. I think Redmi Note 4 should be much better in terms of battery life, though Honor 6X is also pretty good. Both have heavy skins which are very different from stock android, but then that is very subjective. As far as I know, Xiaomi provides regular security patches and they are more prompt in updating the MIUI version compared to Huawei. People with experience of using Huawei devices can correct me.
You can check the detailed review here:

There is also a camera comparison video on that channel between Redmi Note 4 and Honor 6X.

The Redmi Note 4 could be an overall good phone but if you are specifically looking for a good camera then look elsewhere. Redmi Note 4's front and back cameras are just average and they start acting up at low light conditions.
My mother's Moto G Turbo had developed a thin green line on the LCD in November. She got the screen replaced under warranty in Thane (authorized service center).
After that, the microphone has developed a weird problem - during call the volume level goes down mid-way in a sentence and comes back to normal after few moments.
She does not notice any change, but the other party gets annoyed.

It is most likely corrupted. Did you write / delete any files while using it in the card reader? If you did, I bet they would have come back while accessing on the phone.
I thought this is a phenomenon common with kingstons. Samsung and sandisk seemed to be relatively more foolproof.

Thanks, that helped.
My personal experience (from my Mi3 to MiPad to Redmi Note 3 ) is that Xiaomi service centers have become dodgy & cheatful. I've read reports that Huawei Honor is ahead of Xiaomi in China & the company will try its hand here and I guess there'll be a decent effort to establish the brand.
I value peoples inputs more than youtube reviewers. Just a personal thing on propriety.

Yes, like you'll both said, what matters to me is that the camera is good.
I guess the GPU isn't great compared to the one in Redmi Note 4, but I'd want him clicking pics of interesting things, rather than playing games.
Moreover there was some 10% SBI Debit Card discount and the Amazon Chat Rep said I'm eligible. So 11.7k may be an OK deal.

Thanks for reply.
Yes you are right. I think I would be better buying a new card.
On a side note,
If its corrupted, how is Check Disk not showing any errors? I had inserted the card in reader and connected to PC.
Guys, I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition tablet which charges excruciatingly slowly. Even using a Samsung OEM high output charger with compatible cable, it still takes more than 4+ hours to charge. The battery life is good and there doesn't seem to be any issues with the charging system etc. This is a 2014 model and does not support any Fast Charging type modes.
Any tips on how the same can be speeded up?
My son's NEXUS 7 tab has the glass cracked. I took it to the Nexus centre in Cunningham road, Bangalore and was surprised by the price they quoted for replacing the broken one with new. They quoted 11000 and I had paid 10000 for the tab itself. :Frustrati. Is there anything I can do to get the tab repaired at lesser cost?
I am contemplating repairing it myself by buying digitizer from amazon if there are not options - at least I may get to know "how stuff works" :)

I too went through this. Mine was an issue I had with charging. They quoted high , so I bought a screen broken Nexus 7 on OLX and replaced the part at a shop near Sony world junction Koramangala. The shops name is Universal solutions and the contact is one Navin +91 98809 00001

Thanks a lot for the update. I will check with Navin today.
It is getting scary and I am getting wary buying these gadgets when the cost of getting spares and repairs done is burning a hole in the pocket. :Frustrati. If it is the strategy of the companies to force the consumers to go for new ones instead of providing after sales services, including repairs, I am not the one to fall for it. I would rather not use them even at the cost of inconvenience to me.

Just visit SP Road in CBD. Alternatively, try Dubai Plaza on Resthouse Road off Brigade Road. There are multiple repair shops inside where you can get an immediate ballpark estimate and work done in 2 hours flat depending on your luck :-)

Here you go. The adhesive seems to be the tricky bit, provided you have the tools.

Plenty of phones were on display when I visited their impressive Brigade Road store today :-) safe to assume they are also selling them but I did not specifically confirm the same.
