After upgrading to CM 12S on my oneplus one. I am just seeing one problem.
My battery stats are not normal. Battery backup seems ok but the battery stats are not being displayed correctly.

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

After exactly two year of hiatus I am back in Android camp with a new Sony Xperia Z3 compact (D5833). Got it for ₹25K on eBay, without warranty. Got my sim changed to nano today and started using it. Wanted LTE sim, but that is not available in Manipal. Need to make the switch to LTE sim in Bangalore later.

The Z3 compact is almost the same size my previous phone Lumia 720, but with a slightly bigger screen.

After reading these reviews giving an edge to Z3C over IP6, I didn't have any doubts about what I wanted for my ₹25k.

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

Anyone having Nexus 5 running CM12/12s can update on the benefits of it over stock 5.1 L?

I am contemplating to switching ROM only for the extra goodies like double tap to wake up, better battery life etc. Is it Worth the effort and risk ?

I have unlocked the bootloader and rooted the phone. Also, have experience in flashing roms and going back to stock via ODIN. I need first hand reviews and if possible a suggestion on a good rom + kernel

You actually believe tech reviews by mainstream media? Especially those written by sites not as independent as team-bhp? I don't.

Anyhow, The wife got a work 6 and I'm just counting down the days when I can buy mine - the camera quality, the fluidity, the audio quality is incredible. I'm so done with android and esp my S3. The S6 camera couldn't hold a candle to the 6+ for my usage (incorrigibly hyperactive 4 year old in ambient light).

That said Z3 had a very decent camera for sure. Best among the android phones (didn't try the M8 though).

What happened to the Lumia btw?

If it ain't broke, don't fix it!
Pardon my tone but Have you run out of work or other hobbies to pursue? Custom roms are a bottomless pit of time out of which comes only instability.

I thought you were one of the ones encouraging me to root/custom-rom my Defy+, way back then .

That was a couple of years ago, and I have never regretted it. Nor have I installed any of the updates to the rom, because, as you say if it is not broken...

I don't much feel the need to do the same on the Tablet, though, because the Asus system is pretty decent, and I don't think i would get much of an improvement in looks, performance or usability.

Great buy! I've been using the Z3 (D6603) for the last 6 months now and I can tell you the experience has been seamless, especially the fact that I can use my phone in rain or wet hands and not worry about it is priceless! Coming from a Samsung, it's been a breath of fresh air to use a phone with near stock Android without the kind of rubbish you get on a Samsung. Being a fan of minimalist design helps and the Sony delivers that in loads. The camera is pretty good with all the camera apps easily accessible in the camera interface.

Been using the Lollipop update for a week now and I'm liking it. One gripe would be that Sony has removed the "close all apps" button from the app shutdown screen. Rather stupid move on their part. Hope the rectify it. Overall very satisfied with the experience for now.

PC Advisor is main stream media? Anyway, I read many more reviews. But posted these two here because the comparison was with iPhone6. It was clear from the specs that Z3C was ahead of iP6 at half the price.

Killer battery life, IP68 ruggedness, and great 20MP camera. Well, the camera is not a patch on my 16MP OMD Em5 mkII.

Mom wanted a phone. Windows phone makes a great senior phone. I just put 6 big button on home screen, she won't need anything else.

This is my second Android, my first one was Defy. So waterproofing and dustproofing is a must have for me. And I got this case for it.

Right now it completed 24 hours since last charge. The battery is at 75% under my normal usage. This is what I expect from my phones.

The latest update brings back the close all button. Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods-1429506128298.jpg

Welcome samurai to the exclusive z3c club. Been using it since October, when it launched. It really is an incredible phone. Only hitch is that it's a bit delicate and slippery without the case. Slipped out of my hand in the shower and got scuffed in one of the corners. Using a case and screen guard is a good idea.

My battery life is nowhere near yours but I get about 4 hours of screen time in a heavy usage scenario which is better than my previous lg g2.

Just for the camera, the 6+ really makes sense. My LG G3's camera is good, especially with day-time photos but iPhone photos appear more real and works better in low-light conditions. But other than the camera, I feel the G3 is better in every other aspect. My work phone is a 5S (and wifey got a 6), but I hardly reach for the iPhone except for office mails and calls.

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

Hey I could do with a little help here

I need an Android phone in the range if 15-20k, decent performance, camera and good build quality. I don't prefer Samsung.

Any suggestions?

Also what about the Asus Zenfone 6? Any idea when it's getting the lollipop upgrade?

I'm not very good at this so any help would be welcome!

I don't screen guard, but I never use it without case.

I got the highly rated case for it from US, and didn't use the phone until I got the case.

This is my Lumia 720 bought in Apr 2013. I gave it my mom and moved to Sony Z3C last week. My 78 year old mom is somebody who can handle technology.

Re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

I am yet to charge the phone since 19th morning. And I did have heavy usage yesterday including a hour+ long call. I am thrilled to see the massive stride android phones have done in battery life in the past 2 years I was away from it. My phone may be an extreme case, but I didn't really expect an android phone to outdo Windows Phone in battery life.

This is after 50 hours of usage.
