Is Apple resetting the clock on date of purchase after every replacement or continuing with original date?
This will impact your warranty coverage.

Iam ensuring this and they are resetting the clock as and when it's replaced. Anyways I didn't accept my 4th IPAD, got a call from one of the senior adviser and customer relation manager from Apple and they are actually sending a guy to my work place to pick the IPAD and replace it with a brand new BOXED IPAD. Their promise is that it would fix all my issues, fingers crossed again

As an agreement this would be my last attempt on IPAD, if the same issue persists they would trigger the process of refund.

Re: iPad-ed !!!!

That's really good on them to do that. Hopefully your woes end with this one!!

I've not seen that problem on my iPAD or on my friend's iPAD2. Both of us got it from the US, so I guess the warranty is not applicable in India even if I had a problem!

Is it not applicable in India? It should be.

The only exception is the iPhone as per many people. You have to buy it from India for warranty cover which is quite ridiculous.

Ruchirtnt, I find the speaker to be good enough as I rarely need to take it to full volume. But you can either hook up external speakers or use 2 headphones using a splitter

Thats right Technocrat.

MPower: in the meantime you could use it within the Flipboard App. Very different user experience but in a good way. Facebook official App should be out any time very soon going my the grapevine.

Ok I have not posted on this thread for a long time but I'm an occasional reader.

I just ordered a ipad2 through my relative in the US. A couple of questions from my side.

1. I saw that some members of team-bhp got replacements done. Are there any problems in the ipad?

2. Will imessage work in my ipad once ios 5 is launched?

3. I was thinking of going for the cheaper 16 GB variant. Will I be able to watch movies from an external HDD on the ipad? Also does the ipad have an hdmi out or any thing to connect it to a bigger screen?

I got it replaced 4 times and 5th one is in transit from Singapore directly from Apple. One nasty issue is the light leakage/bleeding from the side panels (for some it might be bearable, but I myself didn't want to live with it paying premium amount. And the fact that some devices are ok and some are bad).

Only way to ensure there is no such issue is to take a photo covering the camera, and preview it in the room with no light. Screen should be black to see the leakage issue.

Search in the net and you would find loads of them with this issue. But, if one can live with it, rest works like charm.

From external HDD no, but you have some apps available which can do that for you. Famous VLC is no longer available on the Appstore, but you can try vikiplayer. Seem to be OK.

You get an accessory which need to be bought which gives a provision of HDMI connectivity to big screens.

It basically means, you would see bright/light white spots on the screen on the edges, when viewing or watching darker back ground images. You cannot see this when your room light is turn on (unless you have a bad screen).

Attaching one from my IPAD just to give you idea.

See the white spot on right side.

Hope you have installed VLC Media player only in your IPAD 2, as it's no longer available on App store. What you find now is a VLC remote player and it's completely different App.

If you have VLC Media Player, connect the IPAD to itunes and go to app section.

Once you scroll down, you would see under File sharing applications section, VLC on your left side, select VLC. Once you do that, right side you would have load and save options which would get enabled. Load is to transfer files from PC to IPAD and save is other way around. Hope that helps.
