Is iPad 2 available in stock in any stores in Bangalore now? I checked with some of them in Outer Ring and none of them had stock. Planning to give it as a birthday gift to my daughter.

A few thing I wanted to mention for i-pad 2

Have updated most of the applications including word, pdf reader, games, hd videos, songs, maps, FB, Team Bhp and most other stuff I have in my iphone 4.

The touch of I-Pad is much better than the iphone and I infact found the display to be better as well. I have hard time using i-phone after using i-pad. Similar to i-phone, its not easy for a non GADGET FRIENDLY person to use it. In fact, Dad had a real hard time using it for first few days and had to consult me on almost every application. But now that he has got a hang of it, he rather stays away from the Laptop. He is finding all applications such as internet, word, mail and photos etc very useful.

The operating system is really fast, and better than the I-phone 4. The overall feel of the product is great and its very light and easy to carry.

Now, one thing he has hated, and I am in concensus, is the camera (VGA). Its rather pathetic. My dad's hobby is photography and he said, a good camera is what he is missing in this otherwise incredible product.

The battery back up too is excellent, does 12 hour plus with moderate usage without any trouble.

Lastly, I still havent got any sim for the i-pad, I am confused, no one is offering trouble free 3G access. Airtel is rather pathetic and vodafone isnt far off. I have heard, Aircel too is bad. I am confused.

@Jaggu, thanks for the link, I plan to get the i-pad JB, so that the calling option can be added to it. I am now feeling if I should have rather bout a i-pad instead of i-phone . Only way I console myself is "you still cant carry i-pad every where like i-phone".

2 weeks waiting period at most of the places. Try croma they might get it faster.

Hold on its not yet out and iPad 2 JB is not yet out for current OS??

Yes, the Gaffar market guy told me that JB for the current OS should be out in about 3 weeks and this was on 28th. So I guess still over 2 weeks for JB to be available. Dont know how these guys figure out when its going to be out, but I believe its their bread and butter, so they should know it.

Come on now, its just an illusion due to the larger iPad screen size. When they run on the same OS, why would the touch interface be better on one than the other?

The iPad doesn't have retina display like the iPhone 4 which means lower pixels/inch. So how does the display appear better? Have both devices been set to the same brightness level?

Yes, It can be illusion because of larger screen size. I have screen guard on my phone, so it's possible I am finding the display in I pad better.

And yes the 16 gb iPhone memory is almost full compared to the 64gb iPad, which is not even half full, so the ipad may seem faster.

However, the touch is definitely better in iPad, don't know technicalities but I am finding it better.

Lastly, the brightness in both were set same .

Please pardon me as I am still not 100% versed with apples, didn't know a thing about apples till 3 months back when I bought iPhone. Still leaning, so the above were what I felt using the two gadgets.

I got my office iPad2 yesterday. I used it for 5 minutes and got bored. Made it easy to pass it off to the Apple developer.

Today I tried to get the iPad2 to work with my projector using the HDMI extender cable. It worked shakily for a few minutes, and then it just failed to work. My apple developer tried his best to get it to work, but it just didn't happen.

Hey guys. I've just purchased my first ipad (2) and have a really basic Noobie question. How does one download movies. I went out of the way to buy a 64GB version so I can store movies etc. on it. Now my registration details etc are all legit with India address (read: India itunes access). I'm told the only way you can buy music is if you have a US itunes account which I don't want to get. Is this correct? What's the easiest way outside of this to be able to download and save movies on to my ipad. I'm ok to do this directly to ipad as well as through my laptop with further transfer to ipad through itunes.

Apologies again for what is probably a very very basic question but any help would be much appreciated.

Just one of them for starters - Install the VLC app and sync all content you need on your iPad, into that App.

Well, VLC is no longer available in app store; So, unless you already have that it is no go.

There are a few converters in the market (some free) the will convert from whatever format to the format recognized by iTunes and hence iOS devices.
You cam use one of those to convert, add to iTunes and then sync your device.

Can not recollect any from the top of my head but google should help.

Having said that, I think VLC is the least painful way. <selfGloat>I got it even while waiting for my iPad</selfGloat>

I have explored the price of Ipad 2 in bangkok and it is pretty less as compared to in india, i am planning for a ipad 2 16GB 3G model which is costing 36900 in india and the same is costing around 29000 there, i am travelling next month to BKK so will look to buy it from there, i think it will cover the international warranty and can i get any experience of a team bhpian buying a gadget from bangkok.
