Brand: HP
Model15-eg2073cl
Color: Blue

Check this one - similar to the one that you had shortlisted but with Ryzen7: Walmart HP Ryzen7
RAM should be upgradeable I think - but do double check.

One thing to add here will be the battery life.
HP Victus has a 70Wh battery compared to the Pavilion's 52Wh i.e the Victus will last longer than the Pavilion on battery power.

And as the OP has specified they might need to use the laptop unplugged for hours in college,
this might be a point of consideration for them.

Not sure about the comparison of the graphic cards in both these laptops but if they somehow match, then definitely going for the Victus would be beneficial for OP.

Edit: The Victus also comes with a Gtx 1650 at a premium of 2-3k over the radeon variant.
Here's the product number 16-E0301Ax
consider buying that instead.

Guys, my new laptop ASUS Vivobook. Is giving me only about 4-4.5 hours battery backup with zoom usage and normal office work (ppt, excel).

Can some please let me know if this is good, bad or very bad?

(P.S. My laptop is OLED screen and I use it at 70% brightness, 15.6 inch screen)

Looking at buying a gaming laptop in the rate of Rs.70K to 80K. What brands / processors should i be looking at ?

Lenovo has a gaming laptop that I checked out recently, the Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3. It has a 11th generation Intel performance processor (11300H), 16 GB RAM, and also comes with a 4GB NVIDIA RTX graphics card. I almost purchased it but the battery life of 1-2 hrs does not cut it for me, so I went for the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 5 laptop, which also has an NVIDIA graphics card but only the 2GB MX450 one.
If you're okay with the 1-2 hr battery life and weight of 2.2 kg, the IdeaPad Gaming 3 could be a good gaming laptop in the INR 70-80K budget. It appeared to be better built than the one I got. I tried out opening apps too, and it just flew.

Bought the pavilion gaming instead.
Had visited Reliance digital on a weekday to have a hand's on comparison of the laptops. A totally empty store meant i could have a good conversation with the sales guys and after asking him on issues on these laptops he showed me the screen flickering issue of the Victus, so rejected it. Also Victus has more weight to it than the Pavilion.

Get a 6 core processor minimum and graphics should be 3050 or 3050 TI. Ram can be 8 but upgrade it to 16/32 later. If you can spend 80k, id say spend 90k to get a 3060 variant laptop as the 4gb vram in 3050 does limit its performance in demanding AAA games.

Take a look at this one, its pretty loaded and within your budget - https://store.acer.com/en-in/acer-ni...isplay-2-5-kgs

Lenovo - https://www.amazon.in/Lenovo-Legion-...s%2C493&sr=8-9

The Dell G15 is also good but has a non-ips display.

You can also look at Asus Tuf series if you need a good battery life as it has a 90wh battery instead of the 50-65 range others have , every other gaming laptop has a small battery that usually doesn't last over 3 hours.

the Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3 82K201ULIN Laptop (Ryzen 5 5600H/ 16GB/ 512GB SSD/ Win11 Home/ 4GB Graph), Asus TUF Gaming A17 FA706IC-HX003T Laptop (Ryzen 7 4800H/ 16GB/ 512GB SSD/ Win10 Home/ 4GB Graph)
and MSI Katana GF66 11UC-477IN Gaming Laptop (11th Gen Core i7/ 8GB/ 512GB SSD/ Win10 Home/ 4GB Graph) are also options worth considering.

Guys, need to buy a 'home laptop' which can be used by wifey and me instead of our office machines.

^^Intent is to generally surf the Net, email and streaming media.
^^Huge storage not a pre-requisite as we are on some kind of cloud most of the times.
^^No gaming of any kind envisaged.
^^Budget ideally less than 25K, max 30K.

Any suggestions will be highly appreciated.

Get a laptop with SSD only. Else it will be a laggy experience even on a i7 processor. You can look at some options below:

https://www.amazon.in/Acer-Ryzen-Win...dp/B0B42QJMJP/
https://www.lenovo.com/in/en/laptops...l/p/81WB018XIN
https://www.amazon.in/Dell-Inspiron-...dp/B09TNWYR3Q/

Buy during upcoming amazon prime day sales this month, you should get a good deal!

Your requirement has Chromebook written all over it. Unless you need any Windows-specific application to run, in this budget a Chromebook will provide better performance and battery backup.
For example, something like this

Its 3.5 out of 5.0 I guess. I prefer ultrabooks, this is slightly large for me.

How about Dell xps or Windows surface, if you are on tight budget, Surface has different versions, that you may look into.
