Edsel Rulez!
I tried out the S10 Lenovo but was not impressed with its key board & bulging battery.
Few months back I went for a Samsung NC120 for my wife and she is happy with its performance only short coming was the glossy screen.

I suggest you go have a look at the new range of Samsung & HP net-books ..really cool stuff. S10 is now a pretty old model might be phased off soon that why you are getting goodies free along with it.

Yes, makes sense... though it seems value for money right now, I guess I'll wait a couple of months as my requirement is not really urgent.

Oi! One question... Wasn't the 10-2 introduced this year only?

How much for the NC120?

I bought NC120 around 4-5 months ago, In Bangalore it cost me Rs 23k along with that I got a USB powered DVD burner free.

Now the prices are much lower & newer models are in the market.

So far the performance of NC120 is really good. The key board is excellent it almost as a regular full size laptop. No complaints as of now :)

Brought a Macbook from Apple Imagine store UB City.
Mrp - 56,900 Rs.
Then after 6% student discount it's 53486 Rs.
Just got a 3 pin socket worth 20 Rs as free ;-)

My 4.5 year old Dell Inspiron 9300 has served me well. But, now its time to change.

I have ordered Sony Vaio CW series laptop from US. My bro will be bringing it along with him on 1st of Jan' 2010. Here's the config I bought:

4GB DDR3 RAM, 9-cell Battery, CD/DVD Burner, Intel Core2Duo T6600 (2.2 GHz) processor, NVIDIA 230 GPU (512MB), 500GB HDD (5400 rpm), Win 7 Home Premium 64-bit.

Total damages = US$830 ~ Rs. 39K :)

thats a good freebie you got there :).

if you are talking about the socket that converts foreign to Indian on the charger. If you will stay in india, cut off and change it with a good brand pin top, possibly anchor. i have seen charger blowing coz sparks were being formed between the contacts.

Speaking of MSI, here's the MSI X340

Core 2 Solo ULV SU3500, 2GB DDR2 800Mhz, WIMAX, BT, HDMI, VGA, 2xUSB, 13.4" 1366x768, 1.3kg, 6-19.8mm, 2yr International warranty.

How's this for 23.5k with a backpack + headset + MTS Broadband usb modem worth 3.5k free ?

Was out looking to buy a netbook, spotted this and fell in love immediately. So got it home a couple of days back, and am loving it thoroughly :D

Wow that is a great deal! I mean the GPU is awesome(for the price, the performance is great):thumbs up! Congrats and was it bought during the black friday sales?

Bought from the electronics retail chain Croma.

hey! so it will be much cheaper in NP.

I seriously doubt it. I called up MSI helpline at 18002000004 and they told me that the MRP is somewhere around 45k. Checked online, and the lowest price that I could find was around 600USD. Even a direct conversion would result in approx 28k in indian rupees. The only difference in the model listed online and the one that I've got is that I've got the 4 cell model, while they list the 8 cell one.

As a heads up, the processor itself that is used here(Core 2 solo SU3500) is listed on intel at 260USD or so!! A similar config from acer under the timeline series is a LOT more expensive, while being much thicker and heavier as well. I saw a 14" 4810t for 33k. 13in 3810t is even more expensive. So somehow, I have ended up with quite an astonishing deal. A premium ultraportable at a netbook price :D

Oh, btw, an ebay seller has the same laptop for 21k, but he says that that model doesn't have BT or a built in mic, which mine has. You can check that out on ebay.in

Hi Friends,

I am always a dell fan. My Desk Top is dell Optiplex 280 and the lap top is dell Latitude. Desk top is 5 years old. It did serve wonderfully till last month. Due to heavy fluctuation it is blown up and the mother board is out. Latitude is all in all now. I have a plan to leave the 4 year old Latitude to my grand children and wish to Go for studio 15 in January.
