Yes actually, it will sound quite fanboy coming from me. But its a lot more fluid and the black filled menu backgrounds look a lot better.

Hmmm... Just saw this thread. I have been an Apple user since dog's years. I don't remember the last time i had to press START to Shut down my machine! lol.

Anyways, i frankly don't have the patience to read through this whole thread, but if anyone has any query on software or hardware issues, i'll solve it.

I remember when the first store store had opened in Atria and i had gone to check it out, i nust have convinced atleast 7-8 people to "switch"... I kinda became the Local Mac Genius at that store...

I currently own a Powerbook 12", a iMac 17" and MPB 15". Come November, and i'll get the new touch mac.

BTW guys, get snow leopard... it's amazingly fast! Less than 5 seconds to shut down a full loaded MBP.

That's what mac rumours says. It apparently will be a glorified iphone. But you can never say. See the 'spy' pics. Awesome.

I ideally source from the US when someone is coming down and i always find someone to use their student discounts. I knew a distributor earlier and used to source my earlier macs from him directly and save a few thousands on indian price. But ideally US is the cheapest, get student discounts or buy on a national holiday.

Hope the tablets are something like the pics below:

@tejas : Ditto here, I feel its just stupid buying at such high prices here, especially since the warrenty is valid here anyways. Got my eyes set on the MacBook pro (have put my current laptop in the classifieds) so hope it sells soon and I can get a new one sooner!

@NC : What hardware you on currently?

Most of the guys here, I wanted to ask this because I've been wondering this myself. Do you feel that its worth a upgrade to the new MBP and do you feel bad there are no more macbook range and the MBP is commonplace? Some people say wait for the new iPod launches (and probably the tablet as tejas said) I really a preplexed. I dont understand should I wait or go for the bait.

@quickdraw: How did u manage to get SL? In local stores in Mumbai, it isnt out yet. I need to get a MiniDisplay to VGA connector, Snow Leopard and an iPod Touch 8/16 GB. I read that u know someone who'll sell it for less than MRP. Can u ask him how much will i need to shell out for this?

Tejas - nice to know about your overdose on the Mac. I'm a huge mac fan, and own only the mini, my desire is to get a MBP by the year end. My mini runs on 10.4.11 and I'm happy.. but just yesterday a friend who was inspired to go 'apple' thu me decided to bring me SL. so now I have SL but no leopard ;-(
where do you think I can pick up Leopard and also inputs on The Mini handling the new OS. thanks.

1800 bucks is high ? I feel it's pretty good pricing.

1800 is damn good pricing considering that it is a new version of the OS and the amount of changes under the hood.

Johnda, is your mini intel based? Otherwise it won't run SL.

I got my SL through the SDK.

I have the leopard disc. let me know if any one is in bombay and i can toast one then.

The tablet, when out, won't be a performance machine. It'll be a kind of a netbook. For performance, use the MBP.

The VGA adapter cost 1000bucks
