I got my S23U from Dubai and I did not have to do anything else than popping my India sim into it. Please make sure you get the international version when you buy though. The catch is, even when they say it's international, it just means not for UAE. My S23U was a KSA model thus. I had 2 challenges once I started using it because of the region lock.

1. I couldn't activate Samsung pay
2. I couldn't pair my watch 6 classic.

I was able to sort both of these issues by updating the region code using SAMFW and changing my region to India. Being able to record calls is an added bonus.

I got my Samsung S23U from Dubai in Jan and I did not have to do anything. I got the Dubai version from Samsung store and it has been working fine.

By the way, I also upgraded from OnePlus 7T. Love the S23U experience so far. The low light photography is not as good as Apple.

I am thinking of updating the Country Specific Code(CSC) for a S24 Ultra but worried if this change affects the OTA Software Updates.

Could you share your experience here? Any challenges with the updates after the change?
I assume you were also on the 'OXM' CSC.

I am on OXM release but by original CSC was KSA/XSG/KSA. I have now updated it to INS. It's been a few months since I did this, I continue to receive the monthly updates without any problem. I need to wait and watch how other updates would come but I am thinking it shouldn't be a problem. I also changed the Morocco CSC on my brother's S23U last month and he also recieved the update without any problem.

I agree that it's a great device. I have however found a problem —*when you charge the case and before it fully charges, if you take out the ear buds (for usage), one of them doesn't switch on or connect to the device. I've reported this multiple times to them, deep silence from their end. Not sure if I would purchase again as it's mixed bag for me.

S23/S24 Ultra users: How do you disable the image refining that is done by the camera app? It does this in only 50 MP and 200 MP mode. I have tried using the "RAW" format only but it still keeps on ruining the photos.

I have not been able to turn it off. Kindly help.

Re: The Mobile Phone Thread - Queries, decisions, discussions all here

I recently purchased a Xiaomi 14. Prior to Xiaomi 14, I was using Vivo V20 pro for the last 4 years.

After sending an email message from Gmail, at the end it still shows as ''message sent from Vivo V20''. How to change the setting so that in future it will show that ''message sent from Xiaomi 14''??

Try this: Gmail app -> Settings -> select the Gmail a/c -> Mobile Signature

Curious to know why the phone model name is included in the email signature?

Earlier, when Blackberry was extensively used, people used to write 'Message sent from Blackberry'. But these days, I have observed people simply stating 'Message sent from a mobile phone'.

Never quite noticed this. I take far less photos anyway. Try adjusting the intelligent optimization to minimum from camera setting.

You can also install camera assistant from the Galaxy store and turn off picture softening.

Moto Edge 50 Pro - Any feedback?

Looking for some feedback on Moto Edge 50 Pro.
Looking for a mid-premium phone and was looking at Moto Edge 50 Pro considering it's clean UI (near stock) and good Camera specifications.
Is there any feedback from BHPian?

The Motorola Edge 50 Pro looks premium with very good specs. However, I would have concerns over the 4500 mAh battery. I suggest you check out a few review videos online specifically about battery life. Otherwise, the phone looks good.

Hi. I have done that already. It ruins photos to the extent where it changes facial expressions, eyes, smile (closed mouth smile changed to open mouth smile with teeth visible) among other things. I got this phone without knowing about this stupid "refining" being done by the camera. There is no way to stop it. Apart from using another camera app, I don't know what to do. The refining also shows up in the notification bar.

To check- Take a bunch of photos and then open the native gallery app- you can see the photos getting ruined in real time.
