Typical Flipkart scam, nothing new here

Please do note that Samsung devices do NOT have international warranty. Buy it at your own risk.

Guessed as much. This pricing was too good to be true for the S23 Ultra , tat too even without the S24 series being launched. Moreover, when S22 Ultra still retails at 90k something.

Anyway, guess I have to revert to the S23 now , which is within the comfortable budget and is a decent flagship for 55k - 60k INR.

Since, I'm looking to pick the S23 device , I think it would be a better deal to buy it from the official Samsung website as there are exact same offers as FK and some more 'Samsung' exclusive benefits.

A humble request if anyone would be kind enough to DM me their referral code, I would be able to draw more benefits from this purchase. I think this would be in the range of 1500 - 3000 INR something.

Aside, any Samsung folks who have better idea to avail maximum / better discounts from the Samsung official site would be really helpful.

Re: The Mobile Phone Thread - Queries, decisions, discussions all here

Hello pals,

I am looking for a 6.1" 5G phone. Costing 20-25K.
I strongly believe that spending much on a mobile is not wise. But I want a 6.1" mobile. not a larger one.
Can some friend please point me in the right direction?

Pixel 6A.

Keep tracking the price. It will fall to sub 30k price which can be further reduced with CC offers.

Google phones are good but if you are specifically looking at not large phones, I presume you are looking at a light weight phone.

Highly recommend the Realme phones.

I dropped my Realme from the shirt pocket while riding a bike (just broke into 2) and hence chose to go with the so called flagship of One Plus.

All good, expect the weight is just too much for me to handle. All though 170 grams vs 205 grams doesn't sound much, it feels a lot on daily usage basis!

Pros: There is no limit on the number of SIMs a phone can hold. But phones limit to 8 or less. Easy to add or switch different carriers, and generally faster activation.

Cons: Switching phones will require SIM registration again. Right now, eSIMs are supported on premium phones only.

I had a physical Jio SIM when I got my Pixel 7. 5G connectivity was patchy and it would always drop down to 4G.

Then I was told to switch to eSIM and immediately the 5G coverage improved. It still wasn't back to Realme levels of coverage but it was much better.

Since then, there has been a few software updates and 5G coverage has no issues now. It could be a Google Pixel issue or a Jio issue but this is what I experienced.

Mostly none unless you have to go back to a mobile with physical SIM. Migrated (both prepaid) Airtel and Jio to eSIM. The changeover was seamless, and no issues with connectivity. Hassle free especially while travelling, negates the need to swap physical SIM's. Note- SMS won't work for 24 hours.

Make sure your banking apps and gpay would work with the eSIM. There are posts in the iPhone thread that say that some of these apps have problems working with eSIM.

Re: The Mobile Phone Thread - Queries, decisions, discussions all here

Thanks msdivy, antzbin, xotiq & dragonfire for the inputs.

Converted my Airtel physical SIM to eSIM using their Thanks app help.
No issues faced so far, but I had re-register Gpay & PayTM apps since it detected a new SIM. Also had to wait for 24 hours for SMS activation.
5G connectivity seems to have improved with eSIM.

Banking apps I have (HDFC, HSBC) worked fine, didn't have to re-register again.

So I got S23 Ultra 512GB variant for 4050 Dhms from Samsung Store in Dubai and claimed vat refund of 170 Dhms from Airport. So the effective price came to around Rs. 89,000. Very happy with the overall experience - mainly performance and screen size. I wanted a bigger display.

It seems I can exchange the phone while purchasing in India as I tried on Amazon site with the IMEI number.
