Re: The Mobile Phone Thread - Queries, decisions, discussions all here

I am looking to jump on to the phablet bandwagon. The Samsung J Max was enticing until I read that it has 1.5 GB RAM. Seriously?

Now looking at the Mi Max - seems like a damn good option for the price!

Saw the Mi Max today and used it for some time. The phone looks sleek and well made. The screen clarity is good, camera was much better than my Note 3, and it packs a whopping 4850 Mah battery. This comes with MIUI8, and I was impressed by the device. If you want a big screen go for it.

Yes, the battery and the screen are what made me interested in this phone. But looks like it is out of stock everywhere.

Re: The Mobile Phone Thread - Queries, decisions, discussions all here

Was looking for a feature phone as my mom is not comfortable using touch screen phones. Bought Nokia 230 (dual SIM, 2.8" screen, front cam with flash, rear cam with flash and it has sand blasted aluminium back cover). MRP is 4199/- but I paid 3600 (incl some gift card deal).

Does pic resolution change based on how we view it ?

A pic received through WhatsApp, and viewed in WhatsApp can be expanded more than when the same pic is saved to the gallery in the phone.

Is this normal ?

Ph is a Redmi Note3

This is normal because it depends on the app used to view it and how much magnification the app allows. The resolution is the same.

I know this since i have been using miui since 2 years. If you want to zoom in, even in gallery, look at 3rd party apps such as QuickPic.

One Plus 3, is shown as 1_999. Would they shave 8K of the list price?

I don't think they would reduce the price as such. This would be after considering 10% discount (usual bank offers) and a minimum exchange price for old phone. But lets hope they will reduce the tag price also.

Looks like its not a genuine offer

his comes as a big surprise, considering the Chinese brand exclusively sells its smartphones via Amazon India in the country. OnePlus Co-Founder Carl Pei expressed his surprise as well, in a tweet questioning how Flipkart is planning on selling the smartphone. As we mentioned, the OnePlus 3 sale on Flipkart was, in fact, a surprise for OnePlus Co-Founder Carl Pei too, who tweeted to the Indian e-commerce company’s Executive Chairman and Co-Founder Sachin Bansal, saying “What's this? We're exclusive with Amazon.”

Re: The Mobile Phone Thread - Queries, decisions, discussions all here

I am having issues with my Mobiles after installing Jio (not Volte phones).

I had a Moto G2 which I had replaced with an htc Desire recently. It has taken nicely to the Jio SIM. I also have a Moto-X Style. That is not so happy. I have a signal drop at least twice a day, and the phone seems to be eating the battery for breakfast.

Now I need a 4G phone with Dual SIM and if available Volte. I find the htc Ten not a dual SIM. I have been advised to look at One Plus Three T which is Volte Also. I find the reviews quite mixed, either brilliant or poor. What other options do I have?

Galaxy S7 and S7 edge are both dual sim. I think they are the best phones right now in the market.

Xiaomi MI series phones. Both sims support 4G IIRC. Pretty good phones.
