Couple of my friends have got it, I can find out if you want me to. The reviews should be out by now. Bhuvan from our forums has bought one too.

Thanks! That would be really helpful. Also, if your friends have spare, unused invites, would it be possible to share it with me, assuming they have positive feedback of the handset?

IMHO you're better off with the 1+1 or the MI4 instead! Better RAM, better camera and hardly any extra price without the drama of invites! plus deals!

MI4 is 13k for 16GB which is awesome.

I did explore this handset but having the dual sim functionality is important to me which is not there in Mi4. Also, I'd prefer to have device with 4G capability in case in future I wish to use it. This is also lacking here.

Just got the invite from bhpian Suhas_raj. Have ordered the OnePlus X.

Using my invite, one of my colleague at work brought it. I saw it today and it does look stunning with that glass panel at the back. It is light weight and form factor does seem perfect. I still need to explore it's performance as he is yet to get the nano sim, but from the basic operation, UI does seemed flawless. Overall, seemed a very good phone for me.

It seems you are not rooted.
Download an apk for Kingroot. You wont get it on Play. Youll have to look through google for a download link, Place on yuor card, install, and run. See if it is able to root your device. Else, head to XDA for your device's root instructions.
Then try again.
Though, if, like you said, you run minimum apps on your phone, the basic shift with App2sd should be enough, alongwith periodic transfer fo images/whatsapp etc data.

Thanks, Mayankk.

Regarding the second partition - why waste 8gb of space ?
If the second partition on the card cannot be used, then I may as well have a single partition on the card.

Another question:
for ICS 4.0.4, does the phone slowdown if the sd card partition is big ? (like more than 4gb ?)

Hi guys,
I'm finding imported phones on eBay, are they reliable. I don't mind taking the risk of seller warranty. Is there anything to look out for?

The Rationalist.
Global 'unlocked' versions usually work everywhere ('unlocked' is not the same as 'contract-free', so please be careful with the wording while choosing), except cases where some GSM bands vary by country; there were reports on the iPhone thread how Airtel's LTE band in India is incompatible with some models so specific features may not work on devices imported from another market.

Warranty of course will be an issue but you seem comfortable with that.

Absolutely no reason to waste that 8gb. Though you could try rooting first.
I really don't recall ICS slowing down to an alarming degree.

I'd recomment taking a look at http://forum.xda-developers.com/ and searching for threads which are for your phone. If there isn't one, you should create one. This is the forum which taught me flashing ROMs and other stuff.

I had followed the steps mentioned in the webpagges (xda etc) to partition the card. The first partition on the SD card is visible, as expected. The second partition is throwing up errors even when creating it.

I hope the second partition shows up as an external memory.

I plan to root the phone this weekend.
