I'd love something in the iPhone 4S form factor, or maybe the 5/5S. That's what I consider the perfect phone size and even find my Galaxy S3 a tad too big for my liking, but then I don't use my phone to replace my computer and media devices, so feel free to ignore this smartphone dinosaur (the market researchers seem to have done that already)

P.S. I'm also uncomfortable with touch keyboards and would love a QWERTY. Another prehistoric quirk of mine, I guess!

Although slightly larger than what you are comfortable with, blackberry is coming up with an amazing device, the blackberry priv. Android device, with a qwerty keyboard

Thanks! I did see that announcement, but it remains to be seen when it's actually launched in India and at what price point. US prices (unlocked) are ~$700, which is pretty steep for a company that has no previous expertise with Android devices. One would think they'd start somewhere in the mid/upper-mid range instead of going flagship at first. Oh Well.

I wouldn't mind even a mid-range device (on any platform as long as I can get ActiveSync and some basic apps I use) if that meant I could type with real tactile feedback. Wishes, horses, blah blah. Sigh!

Im a big fan of buying preowned. Some people tend to sell off within 1-2 months of using the phone. And considering bb, the resale value will be a disaster. If the reviews are good enough, i might trade my iphone 6 for a priv i find somewhere around jan or feb.
P.S the iphone was bought in feb the same way, 2 month old, saving me a good 10k as compared to brand new. The decision of settling for 16gb was a disaster though

Received the phone today afternoon

Took one additional day as the phone was shipped from WS Retail's Chennai warehouse.

More than anything else, I am relieved that we got it on time, before Saturday.

Will post review soon! Thank you!

I'd love a phone which is in the 4.7" to 5" range. My Redmi 1S was doing good but it got stolen. Xiaomi's Mi4 is a flagship with a 1080 5" screen so that's good!

Lucky for you, Apple might release a successor to the 5/5s which will have the same (or similar) screen size and 3GB of RAM. That would be mega! I personally prefer the form factor of the iPhone 6. It is an amazing phone to hold especially if you have a nice rubbery thin cover!

Re: The Mobile Phone Thread - Queries, decisions, discussions all here

How to manage space on a mobile phone ?

Phone: Samsung Galaxy S Duos S7562
Usage: the normal apps - Whatsapp, photos, messages, a couple of light games.

I am getting a message that the ph is low on space.

The ph has 1.8GB usable memory, and a 2GB micro SDHC card. (yes, 2 GB )

I think the ph stores most app related data internally. Is there any way to move it to the memory card ?

There is a way to make your SD card space 'appear' as internal memory, but that would be useless as you have a 2GB card. If you get a new one and decide to do this, I'd suggest reading about this on XDA Developers' forum. It has a complete step by step guide for most phones. My old Ace had only 50MB or so worth of usable space and so I only had WhatsApp installed. After some time you get used to having no apps on your phone other than the absolutely necessary ones.

In storage, first transfer data to card. (it's an option to click)
Second, install app2sd, and shift apps to card. (guiding interface).
Third, please get a bigger card.

WhatsApp media takes up a lot of space on the phone memory.

Samsung phones have a file explorer , so go to phone memory--> whatsapp --> whatsapp media --> video and images.either copy them or delete .

Re: The Mobile Phone Thread - Queries, decisions, discussions all here

Of course, will get a bigger card. But the problem is not about the card at this time, since there is not much data on the card (there is some space there). The message of lack of space had come earlier and I had removed some files. Now it has happened again. So need a solution to extend the storage space.

Edit:
Thanks .. I checked some posts on that. Hopefully, moving Whatsapp to the SD card will solve the problem. My guess is that all the internal folders of Whatsappwill also be moved to the card.

Thanks, Will check. I was looking for something on these lines.

yes.

Buy Cache Cleaner Pro. I used it for my HTC Chacha to keep it usable for 1.5 years - else the piece of trash got filled up within a week.

Guys, anybody put his hands on OnePlus X? What are the impressions? Does the glass back feel strong enough to sustain a fall or two?
