Took the plunge and bought the k3. Will review it when I receive it.

Re: The Mobile Phone Thread - Queries, decisions, discussions all here

I got my A6000+ back in May 2015. It is a great phone, loving the 4G and battery life.
However not everything is quite rosy. There is a known issue logged by many users/
Issue: A6000+ random hang/power off-
No response , need to remove the battery and insert it to bring it back to life.
From the forums it looks like it is related to the Wifi.
This has happened a few times in the past months. So the workaround is turn of the wifi when not in use.
Other owners swapped the phone and the issue is still present.
So wanted to check if any A6000+ users here have experienced this and maybe found a solution.

Well I got a new Samsung Galaxy S4 for around 15000 . It might be a little outdated with no 4g and launched a couple of years back but compared to budget and mid range smartphones seemed to be a better buy.

I had mainly bought it for its exceptional camera which none of the phones from the established brands in its price range match and I was right. The photos I had taken on my Ladakh trip were quite good.

I had wanted a reliable phone and hence chose Samsung. I generally by low to mid range phones even though I can afford better ones because I tend to be careless and drop phones. And more than that a phone is after all a phone. I don't see any point in spending 65 k for a s6 or iPhone 6+.

S5 at 23000 is also a good deal on flipkart .
I'm thinking of upgrading my s4 which has served me well for a year .

I did take a good look at the s5 before deciding on the S4 for 15k during some Amazon festival.

The S5 for 8k doesn't offer much . No 4g , marginally hardly 10% better camera, slightly bigger screen of same resolution.

When the S6 drops to 23k next year I will be upgrading to that

Re: The Mobile Phone Thread - Queries, decisions, discussions all here

My Note4 needed more memory and finalized a Samsung Evo+ 64GB card from Amazon.

There were a few reviews saying that the product registration failed for few cards. Still went ahead and got one as i needed it urgently and was hoping i might get lucky. The product registration failed, so i returned it.

Bought another from Samsung estore and the card i received had the same serial number!! And this too wouldnt register.

Can memory cards be registered on the samsung site? Should i go ahead and use it?

I realize i am being over-cautious about all this but the previous Sandisk card i used decided to stop working one day and i lost some important data and pics due to that.

Use it, but do keep a backup (One way it to enable sync of your photos, documents with Google account).

SD Cards are generally reliable, but it is risky to keep just one copy of useful data.

I'm looking to buy a Samsung or sandisk 32 gb class 10 microsd card. Prices seem to be around ₹750. Can someone point me to an online original card. I'm worried that sellers will be selling fake cards or cards without original warranty.

Buy on flipkart from seller WS Retail.

WS Retail is Flipkart's own captive selling AFM and hence genuineness is guaranteed.

Cloudtail is amazon's retail venture just like WSRetail is flipkart's.

Even the Kindles on Amazon India are sold by Cloudtail, so yes, he is a reliable seller.
