You should have sold it through Quikr or OLX

I sold my Galaxy Grand for 9999 on Quikr, had bought a Xiaomi Mi3 on flipkart

Any word on when the Nokia Lumia 930 will be launched in India?

For a while, it was showing up on the Nokia India website, but it had disappeared from the website a few weeks ago - not sure why this changed, or what prompted it.

How is Samsung's after sales? Can they refuse repairs to an out of warranty, rooted phone. Phone in question is a 1.5 year old S3. Having issues with the charging port. Has anyone experienced a similar issue and had it rectified? Should I stick with Samsung, or consider third party solutions.

930 is not going to be launched in India.

re: The Mobile Phone Thread - Queries, decisions, discussions all here

I am in the market for a budget phone for my father. He had a Micromax Canvas 3D (A116) that served him well for 18 months. Now that has become dead slow.

I am looking for something that has atleast 1.2GHz of processing power with 1GB of RAM. Camera should be 8MP + a front facing camera.

Now Moto G (2nd Gen) fits my requirement to the T. I came across this Xolo Win Q900s that runs on Win8.1. On the plus side, it weights just 100gms vs 149 gms of Moto G. Also it is Rs. 3.5k less than Moto G. Is it worth it? My main doubts are with respect to Xolo brand and Windows App store.

Any other phone I should consider?

Help me guys!

I think moto g is well worth the extra 3.5k. You can also consider the redmi 1s, the asus zenfone 5 8gb and the new ZTE available for around 11k. All the phones I've mentioned meet or exceed your criteria.

Based on my personal experience, Xolo is a stable phone. Case in point being our Q3000. I would definitely go for it anytime. It's better than Micromax from what I have seen of people around me.

Based on my experience with Xolo, I would definitely try n save the extra money instead of going for Moto G or any thing else.

Windows as a Mobile OS is not bad too! 2 weeks ago I had spent close to an hour with a Nokia Lumia 1520 and hence my observation.

Thanks! But these phones are not readily available. The chances of getting one of these phones from flipkart is same as that of winning a lottery - something that I have never won in my life so far.

Thanks for your response. I am also in favor of trying Xolo.

If I go with the Xolo, I'll have another dilemma - which wax to buy with the remaining cash. Megs Nxt 2.0 or C845. But that is for another thread

My wife and I have been using Xolo for the last 2 years and have had no issues. Before that I was using the MMX Canvas and I must say that the Xolo is better when it comes to battery life and also picture quality.

Recently upgraded my wife's phone to the Q1010i and for its price, its a beauty and comes with Kitkat. I was thinking about replacing my Q1000 with the 8X-1000 but now the Moto G2 at 12,999 is very tempting

Have ordered a Moto G on flipkart. I have a question though. Do I have to pay local body tax (LBT) or is the price all inclusive.

What is that? AFAIK when we buy anything from anywhere, be it local shop or online, the final payable price mentioned in the invoice is final which includes all the taxes etc.

No, you don't have to pay anything more than the price they quoted. All taxes are inclusive. When you get the invoice, you will see the price of the item little lower, plus the taxes as balance - which will be equal to the final price at which you ordered your stuff. Hope that helps.

Saket

Hi guys,
I'm in search for a CDMA handset in the range of 8-10k. Can fellow Bhpians suggest a good phone?

Finally bit the bullet and ordered Xolo Win q900s from Snapdeal. It says the delivery date will be 20th Sep. I'll post a mini review once I get this.
