Have you guys seen the Galaxy Round? I think it will slip into the trouser pocket nicely.

Tempting offer - 15% off on flipkart for Standard Chartered credit card customers till 19th Oct. Check website for details/conditions.

PS: I am buying a Galaxy Note 2+flipcase+32GB card combo (+freebies of bluetooth+batterypack)@26600 - for my Bro-in-law, who always wanted one, using this offer.

There is also a good exchange offer for some samsung mobiles. They are offering 4K for my phone which was evaluated by the retails shops for 2K. Combining both these offers makes for some good buys.

Surprised to see Nokia 920 being sold for 20K on Flipkart for the back case models. Addd to that 15% off on select cerdit card which brings down the price to 17K (almost). Even more surprising that the Red case model is selling for 31K, such a huge price difference for the same model just for the case.

re: The Mobile Phone Thread - Queries, decisions, discussions all here

Is the Nokia 5/7/920 sold in India same as the one sold in the US?

i.e are there any features/apps built in specifically for Indian market (maps etc??)

Flipkart bumped up the prices & removed the combo deal offer. So, dropped Galaxy Note 2 and ordered Lenovo K900 with the freebies today for 24500. Cash-back of 15% on 24500 will come by end of November. Amazing turn-around time by Flipkart. Placed order this morning around 10. Already the phone has reached BLR from DEL and mostly likely to be delivered tomorrow morning - ~24 hour delivery

If you look closely, both are being sold by different sellers. The cheaper ones are by WS Retail and other one by Mobilenetworks. WS Retail has the best service and product range with not much of bad reviews compared to other sellers. I have purchased a lot of things from Flipkart but only when sellers are WS Retail. You can read seller reviews there on Flipkart.

re: The Mobile Phone Thread - Queries, decisions, discussions all here

Flipkart is offering HTC 8X C620 E at a pice of Rs.16,999/- instead of MRP 39,999/-. The phone runs on Windows Phone 8 OS.

http://www.flipkart.com/htc-8x-c620e...5-2bb76aa704c3

I basically want to buy a smart phone for using whats app and more importantly for google navigator. can this be run on the above phone?

Questions in my mind are - Why such a discount - is this model an utter flop?

- Sai

Just to inform those that are not aware WS Retail is Flipkart.WS retail is the actual retail arm of the flipkart business that is headquartered in Singapore for corporate reasons.
The best deals will be from Flipkart aka WS retail and the most reliable too.

re: The Mobile Phone Thread - Queries, decisions, discussions all here

I bought a Galaxy S3 for Rs.194xx+15% stanchard discount. So a net price of 16500 Rs. They offered 5400 for exchange of my Nokia 5800 expressmusic. The offer was too good to refuse

I ordered on 15th night and had the phone on 17th morning. Point of envy among colleagues - the phone was removed from flipkart(WS retail) on 16th morning.

Lucky you man the price of S3 has gone up now and they are not accepting 5800's anymore. I would have gone for S3 anyday as this price hike wouldn't hurt me much if they still accepted 5800.

re: The Mobile Phone Thread - Queries, decisions, discussions all here

Hi Guys,

My mother is looking for a phone which can support whatsapp, email and a decent camera. The catch being she's never used a smart phone or a touch screen before. I am looking for a phone with a qwerty keypad and basically it narrows down to either a Nokia or Samsung.

My mother is technologically challenged when it comes to the kind of phones we use. She just wants to catch up with friends while on the go (since her entire social circle in on whatsapp) and check her email with attachments while at work. Knowing her she's going to keep the touch phone aside and go back to her old phone if she's uncomfortable with the interface.

On the above mentioned requirements I look forward to your suggestions. I don't think she believes in spending more than 10 k for a phone so please do keep that in mind.

THANKS a TON MATE!!

I was sitting here in USA wondering what to buy next and whether to wait for Nexus5 (which would easily be 26-27k INR) or pick up the 5C (around 38k INR). This worked out 17.3k INR which is a damn neat deal, esp since my assumed resale for the piece of crap HTC Chacha was anyways a grand ZERO!

Ah, this is indeed timely. I would be very interested for my mother as well. she is rather tech unsavvy but she has similar needs and I've been thinking of this or a tablet for a while. QWERTY isnt as much a preference for us though. let us know what you choose. thanks!
